I have awful toothache. I had an extraction on Thursday and the pain is just getting worse. It's going to be a long weekend until I can see the dentist.

I've taken so many pain killers I can't take any more so just got to ride it out.

How about you?

Woken by email notification that DDs Covid test was positive. Facing 10 days at home with her, DH isn't allowed home from work (guessing next weekend as well). Can't take elder DD to school open evenings. And it would be the day before I went to the supermarket...

Plus, she was already starting to bounce off the walls yesterday afternoon.

itsgettingwierd · 25/09/2021 04:10

I could easily sleep for a few more hours!

But I'm up to take ds swim training.

Sorry to those with bad news, pain and feeling unwell.

I've got a horrid cold too atm. Really snotty nose and sore throat.

indecis · 25/09/2021 04:14

I routinely wake up at 4-5am irrespective of the time I go to sleep - mostly stress related I think. I often browse Mumsnet because it's a very lonely time to be awake, it's comforting to know I'm not the only one...

Because it’s not yet bedtime for me 😊

ArtichokeAardvark · 25/09/2021 04:20

I'm up because I ate a stupid curry ready meal for supper and I've just vomited for the third time since midnight. We're supposed to be going to the Chelsea Flower Show today, tickets were my birthday present Sad

Molly1418 · 25/09/2021 04:29

Think I am going through peri menopause times, just woke up half an hour ago for no reason reading news since then

indecis · 25/09/2021 04:35

@Molly1418 crikey, not sure the news will help you sleep 🙈😂

Molly1418 · 25/09/2021 04:42

@indecis I know!! Petrol, lorry driver crisis, empty supermarket shelves, panick petrol buying and all thatHmm

Theblackdogagain · 25/09/2021 04:44

Ds bought a cold home from school, he's being feeling a bit grotty since Tuesday and I've got it bad now. Dh slept downstairs as he knows my sleep goes to bits when I'm ill so at least he can get sleep so he can sort out the kids tomorrow. It's been so long since I've had a cold I'd forgotten how snotty you get.

bigbaggyeyes · 25/09/2021 04:47

I'm on about day 4 of Covid and my paracetamol wore off about half an hour ago, I'm sat downstairs with a cuppa waiting for the next lot to kick in. Don't want to be tossing and turning and wake my dh up as he worked a 14hr shift yesterday and he started at midnight.

@Molly1418 yep! Don't get me wrong, I stay up to date with the news but it's hardly a lullaby 😂

lljkk · 25/09/2021 04:52

insomnia, new pet worries, work frustrations. mostly insomnia (lifelong)

UnicornBeach · 25/09/2021 04:55

Another one up on night feeds, love a wee scroll through Mumsnet while I wait for dc to doze off., he makes sure he gets a good wriggle, grunt and several groans before he gets comfy 😂
Op toothache is the worst. I kid you not toothache was the reason I called in sick for the first time as it kept me up all night.. even necked vodka from the bottle in the early hours hoping it would do something LOL I just couldn’t cope.. disclaimer; I’m not an alcoholic and don’t swig from the bottle but it was a thing of pure hell.
Good luck Flowers

Yellowbowlbanana · 25/09/2021 04:55

I had surgery a couple of weeks ago on my fanjo and keep getting shooting pains up there.

Ringsender2 · 25/09/2021 05:17

Stupid cat woke me up jumping through bedroom window that DH left open. Then yowling urgently at me for food (cat, not H)

MouseholeCat · 25/09/2021 07:46

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and woke up choking on stomach acid. I'm trying to calm myself down and ease the burning in my throat before working up the courage to try and sleep again.

Horsemad · 25/09/2021 08:06

Hopefully we all managed some sleep eventually.
I got about 3.5 hrs...

@garlictwist, how's the pain this morning?

garlictwist · 25/09/2021 08:34

@horsemad - thanks for the message. I got a couple of hours sleep between 430 and 630. The pain is a little less. I took some ibuprofen when I could which took the edge off but I can feel it waiting to come back with a vengeance!

Glad you managed to get a little sleep too.

Horsemad · 25/09/2021 08:44

Oh I hope it calms down for you @garlictwist. 🤞 I remember the last time I had an extraction, it was so painful I was convinced it must be infected but it wasn't - awful pain; I had a baby without pain relief and would rather do that again than endure tooth pain!!

BlooBagoo · 25/09/2021 09:37

DH came to bed and thankfully didn't snore at all. He did try to cuddle me at one point and I nearly fell out the bed though. Had to get up just after 9 as the postie came to the door so I've just stayed up. He's meant to be meeting friends for drinks tonight so might have the snoring then instead.

Hope those in pain and ill feel at least a bit better today.

@Whambastersauce that story is so sad. :( I hope it's not one of the kids you teach. DD2 is around the same age and I just can't imagine. :(
