The last 18 months have been incredibly tough; I work for a small company (not in the UK) of only 20 employees and we've struggled through the pandemic. This summer has been stressful with staff on long term sick, problems with suppliers and subsequent soaring costs. Financial support from the government has been inconsistent for both employees and companies.
I'm going on holiday tomorrow (budget break!) so today was my last day. My boss quietly handed me an envelope this morning and said 'Thank you for all your hard work over the summer, buy yourself a drink at the airport'. There was €100 inside, I nearly cried
It might not sound like a lot of money to many on here but it will make such a difference to my holiday. And being appreciated means so much after a horrible year 😊
