I thought it was shite! Very disappointing after the tv series.

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 14/09/2021 22:07

Yup.

Btw if you watched the series on Amazon I seem to remember there was a glitch with the episodes. We thought we had watched them all but there was a two parter that wasnt put in sequence. And maybe another episode that was wrongly placed too and we missed them.

Porridgealert · 14/09/2021 22:09

Yes. It's just like a long episode.

SockQueen · 14/09/2021 22:11
It's pretty much aimed at people who liked the series.
Ninkanink · 14/09/2021 22:11

Yes ❤️ Enjoy!!

Gladioli23 · 14/09/2021 22:12

I liked the film but when I watched it on Netflix they appeared to have sped the cinema version up from 24 to 25 frames a minute so some of the voices etc sounded funny. People online were or weren't complaining about it depending which streaming service they had used. It wasn't so annoying that it spoilt the film though.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 14/09/2021 22:13

I rewatched it at the weekend after rewatxhibg the series, all it did was make me want more 🤣
You'll enjoy it

Ninkanink · 14/09/2021 22:14

Downton Abbey 2 is due out in March 2022!

AnneShirleysNewDress · 14/09/2021 22:19

I loved the film and I'm looking forward to the next one. Definitely worth a watch.

UPDATE
So watched it and to be honest found it abit boring

RiotAtTheRodeo · 16/09/2021 13:22

Downton itself is slightly boring (in a soothing way) so that's what I expected from the film.

Ninkanink · 16/09/2021 13:35

Yes it certainly wasn’t riveting but it was in the Downton mould which tbf was exactly that IMO - soothingly boring, for the most part.

A film is also a lot harder to make even vaguely believable if too many ‘exciting’ things happen.

JanetandJohn500 · 16/09/2021 14:34

What platform is it on please?

RampantIvy · 16/09/2021 14:37

I loved the film. Maggie Smith has all the best lines.

Ninkanink · 16/09/2021 16:09

She really does. My favourite character.

BearSoFair · 16/09/2021 16:55

The second film out next year has added Hugh Dancy to the cast so for that reason alone I'll be watching Wink

RiotAtTheRodeo · 16/09/2021 17:06

Most of the upstairs men in Downton look the same to me. A long line of posh men with dark brown hair.

Iimaginethiswillbefun · 16/09/2021 17:08

Maggie Smith is incredible in it. I love her. Can’t wait for the next film. It is a bit dull but so lovely.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/09/2021 17:29

I lined Downton and enjoyed the film. Think a second film might be a bit much. And almost certainly going to have to kill the Dowager off.

ManifestDestinee · 16/09/2021 17:31

I saw it in the cinema and was annoyed at having wasted the ticket price! Not too bad on netflix though

ManifestDestinee · 16/09/2021 17:31

And almost certainly going to have to kill the Dowager off

It's already been leaked that its in the film, plus you knew that from the first film.

RiotAtTheRodeo · 16/09/2021 17:33

She could have a delightfully waspish death bed scene.
