I bought tinned sweet corn from Asda rather than Tesco or aldi, I always buy the cheapest but this one is disgusting and flavourless. I bought 3 tins of it too Angry

Fucking stupid border restrictions

Onesailwait · 15/09/2021 02:50

I planned to meet my friend for a boozy brunch today. No kids so I put my phone & debit card in my tiny cute purse, hopped on the bus for the 1hr ride downtown. Got to the restaurant They asked to scan my vaccine passport, all good. Forgot my bloody driving license so couldn't go in :(. Not the restaurants fault but annoying all the same.

tomorrowalready · 15/09/2021 03:11

Dropped and smashed the egg I was putting onto boil then dropped the knob of butter I was going to use for toast. Never ever done that before in my life. and similar to FelicityBundle I bought 3 jars of Rajah Lime Pickle as on offer for £1 and thought it would liven up my diet. It is too strong for me, does anyone want it?

TheUnexpectedPickle · 15/09/2021 03:34

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar you weird little freak!! 😜

Next door have builders, there's a lot of power tools and drilling and my car is filthy from the brick dust. They've been super nice and apologetic and I don't begrudge them the building work, but it is annoying all the same.

Upstairs neighbour once again put her music on super loud while sitting in her garden drinking with a friend. She appears to have absolutely no awareness that other people can hear it- I hear her DP all the time telling her ti turn it down as its too loud/too late.

Went out for lunch, dozed off for a couple of hours when I got home and now I can't sleep!

MondeoFan · 15/09/2021 06:02

@Keepgoing88 haha - maybe we work in the same place?

Chailatteplease · 15/09/2021 18:42

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal

Trying to cancel a meeting with DD's teacher, only for her to come back and say "actually, it would more convenient to go ahead with it as planned."

Convenient for you, perhaps, but it's no longer at all convenient for me, and I'm as I'm not actually your pupil and don't have to do what you say, I'm not coming. Angry

😂
@littletinyboxes I need to know how you've responded please. Grin
@poorbuyhappy

I have replied in a very passive aggressive way I'm afraid. I 'replied to all' (his fault for cc'ing the world and his wife) very politely expressing my surprise that he hasn't sorted the issue of his lack of printer yet, saying it must be rather inconvenient for him and sending him a link to somewhere that one is available locally and quite cheaply. I have very helpfully offered to print it for him this time and given him a few times that he could collect it from me. This last offer is to show that I am infact being very helpful- I am 100% certain that he will not take me up on it as a) I suspect he does have a printer but cba to get it out of the cupboard and use it: b) driving to my house would take longer than buying a bloodly printer and c) I have only offered collection times that I know will be inconvenient for him

CheekyAFAIK · 15/09/2021 19:26

DS just pooed in the bath. Had to whip him out, comfort him as he wasn't ready to finish his bath, fish the turds out, put him in pyjamas then he ran around too much and was sick on me. Now I have sick and shit to clear up and I'd rather be doing something else!

Redyellowblue34 · 15/09/2021 19:27

DS has the arse with so not speaking to me.I have a particular cafe that anyone who knows me will know is my favourite. DS and STXH arrange a family get together at said cafe with sibling and partner. Of course I am excluded. Required a large bar of chocolate to recover from a ‘it’s not fair.’

BigRedDuck · 15/09/2021 19:32

Someone requesting important information from a large of group of colleagues with a deadline of 3 days time because she forgot to send the email out last week. Bugger off!!

Cherrysoup · 15/09/2021 19:38

Someone asking me to do something at work for them that should and could be done themselves !

Oh yes, I get a lot of that! ‘Can you upload this into the right folder?’ I’d sent the document to her to help her out. It would take probably less time for her to upload it instead of emailing me to do it. Bonkers. This is a frequent thing she does.

Hawkins001 · 15/09/2021 19:44

Reading with intrigue

I used to have a manager who would do this sort of thing. In one of our mentor sessions, she suggested I should do the same thing because it would 'train' people working with me to think whether there would be anything else they could do for me. Her theory was that if everyone knew that if someone did x for me there would always be a follow up request of y, eventually they would realise and to save themselves time they would do y, z and a just in case I wanted it.

she was an awful manager who would do this then shout at people for doing y and z when she only asked for a or conversely for not having the initiative to do a, b and c too, depending how her mood was

YouTubeAddict · 16/09/2021 09:35

@littletinyboxes

Snarky e-mail from someone I work with about the fact that I e-mailed him a document that he needs in hard copy (just a black and white A4 page of writing). Apparently 'everyone' knows he doesn't have a printer so apparently, I will need to drive to his home to take him a copy (and he has cc'd lots of people in the company when he tells me this- implying that I am incompetent in having e-mailed it to him). We have all been working from home for over a year now, printing this document is specifically part of his job (just as sending it to him by e-mail is mine). He is well off and lives in a large house, so could easily afford a printer and has plenty of room for one.

Actually, this has more than mildly annoyed me- the man is an arse

😮 I’m annoyed on your behalf!!
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 16/09/2021 10:26

Someone on here asking about wedding ‘bands’. Another import from across the pond I suppose.
They always used to be wedding rings, and mine still is.

The4ks · 16/09/2021 10:39

@TheChosenTwo
That EXACT same thing happened to me in Tesco about 5 years ago now.
Asked ds, probably about 8 or 9 at the time, to pick a number for a scratchcard then the woman wouldn't sell it to me!
Absolutely nuts!!

IceLace100 · 16/09/2021 10:40

I had to go to work.

Unacceptable that I have to work to be paid. Cant they just pay me and me not work?

TheChosenTwo · 16/09/2021 21:46

Oh ffs @The4ks I’d forgotten about this thread and now your comment has made me mildly annoyed all over again Grin
It’s just such an irritating situation!

The4ks · 16/09/2021 21:51

Haha so sorry @TheChosenTwo!
Please resume your natural calm state of bliss and forget about scratchcard rule craziness!

TheChosenTwo · 16/09/2021 22:01

Grin it’s okay, it’s actually nice distraction from a rather hellish 24 hours which were slightly more than mildly annoying!
It’s just bloody stupid though isn’t it? The kid was 3 ffs Grin

longtompot · 17/09/2021 14:42

@TheAverageUser

I went to pick up some rubbish from floor, missed it, turned, missed it again, got it, slipped through my fingers.

Rage Angry

Gah! I hate it when that happens.

Our old cat has decided he does not like the new cat litter at ALL thank you very much (The Worlds Best cat litter, lavender scented) and has decided the carpet around the trays is where he will pee. I've had to spend the morning vac washing it. I now have to go and buy a different litter from the local shop which will be expensive, just so he will use the trays. My fault really for not easing him in with the new one with his old unscented litter Sad

Dreamingofbeergardens · 17/09/2021 19:17

Being fine all week then getting a pesky cold at the weekend when I have plans with a friend I haven't seen in a year. Sad

IceLace100 · 17/09/2021 21:08

People in London being so rude! Why Londoners why?

PinkTonic · 17/09/2021 21:19

Someone I’ve never had any interaction with whatsoever messaged me on teams and first she said hi pinktonic, then how are you, then she asked me for a decision on something I was hearing about for the very first time entirely without context. When I didn’t immediately acquiesce she got shitty.

36degrees · 17/09/2021 21:32

I'll have all the lime pickle, love it.

A minor misunderstanding about meeting online vs in person next week has mildly annoyed me. Both got excited over nothing, there's no chance we could meet up in person this month due to work commitments but if I'd known meeting in person was on the cards I'd have suggested a date I was more available.
