What's your go to picky evening snack?

I mean after dinner, when you're watching the tele and fancy a pick at something?

I like a little tub with tiny pickled onions and cubes of cheese in it.

Blimey some of these are pretty much a full meal as opposed to “picky bits” 😂

Holshicup · 08/09/2021 22:10

Ooooh another great idea to try, thank you!

Bananaman123 · 08/09/2021 22:16

Currently cheese and onion crisps with sour cream dip. Crisps is normally my go to snack. For some reason we do cheese and pickles near christmas time, no idea why!

Mommybunny · 08/09/2021 22:16

I don’t watch a lot of TV but at night while I’m scrolling on my phone I find it so hard to resist wandering downstairs to stand at the box of tropical granola and just keep feeding myself handfuls. I can often only resist if I bring a spoon to the peanut butter jar.

I would totally go for crisps and ohmygod the salted caramel nuts sound aMAZEing but even if I had them in the house at least I do keep to my rule that I don’t open a package of snack food for my own consumption, and once one is open there is no way my family would leave any for later consumption.

Nori strips
Frozen grapes
Red grapes and cherries 🍒
Soft cheese and poppy seed crackers
Crisps, as spicy as I can find 🌶️
Sour rainbow belt sweets

I am reading all of these with envy. I couldn’t have any of them without being overweight! I honestly think I don’t have the metabolism other people have and have to eat like a bird to stay slim. So it’s 16:8 for me most days and that means stopping eating in the evening. If I fancy picky bits (and these would be cheese, currently have a thing for conte, sun dried tomatoes and chocolate washed down with a spot of red wine) I have to make it my evening meal not having it as well as a meal. I am enjoying reading the thread though, snacking vicariously.

Hot cross bun.

CampervanQueen · 08/09/2021 22:40

@TweedePrik

I found some salted caramel chocolate peanuts in the supermarket at the weekend and they are marvellous.
@TweedePrik which supermarket would that be? #askingforafriend
HugeAckmansWife · 08/09/2021 22:49

Marmite rice cakes, broken up so they feel like crisis, cubes of Cheddar. Sour cream and chive pretzels. Posh flavoured tonic if I'm trying not to drink alcohol.

MyrealnameisBernard · 08/09/2021 22:49

Salted caramel chocolate peanuts? Yum

HugeAckmansWife · 08/09/2021 22:49

Crisps!! Ffs!

Shodan · 08/09/2021 22:56

Depending on mood:

Sweet and salted microwave popcorn, tipped into a large bowl so I can feel all Olivia Pope-y

Bombay mix

Cheese and crackers

Crisps

Grapes and cubes of cheese, or sliced Leerdammer/Jarlsberg

A nice virtuous apple

Ice cream

And if there's really nothing in that takes my fancy, a spoon of Nutella or a handful of cereal.

I have eclectic tastes Grin

Gingersay · 08/09/2021 22:59

Tesco sea salt and cider vinegar crisps.

Thursa · 08/09/2021 23:02

Ritz crackers topped with Philadelphia cream cheese and a slice of cherry tomato.

A bag of plain crisps with some Lea and Perrins sprinkled in.

A banana sandwich.

Popcorn with M&M’s mixed in.

@fluffiphlox

This is a new world to me. We finish dinner and clear up and watch a bit of TV from 9-ish but don’t have anything else to eat. I’m missing out. Deep frozen maltesers here I come!
Same here, eat late. If I started on these ideas I'd be huge. Having said that, I'm starving after reading that and now fancy cheese and pickled onions!
BananaMilkshakeWithCream · 09/09/2021 06:51

@Chicchicchicchiclana

I never fancy a "pick" at something. I either eat it or I don't.
You’re annoying
Iputthetrampintrampoline · 09/09/2021 09:43

a bowl of icecream

sqirrelfriends · 09/09/2021 09:49

Frozen grapes

InnPain · 09/09/2021 10:28

Pretzels are amazing especially the sour cream and chive ones (can’t remember the brand)

Bbq1 · 09/09/2021 11:13

Crisps, every time.ado, Dutch crisp bakes with butter.
I also love Jacobs cheese sandwich crackers. I have to only buy them occasionally though as I could eat the whole packet in one sitting!

Bliss

MrsFoxyplease · 12/11/2021 09:15

Toast with a blob of HP brown sauce and a chunk of mature cheddar.
Or
Veggie spring rolls
Or
Thornton's vanilla fudge.

SingingSands · 12/11/2021 09:15

Similar to you OP. Chopped up apple and cheese.

MyCatTibby · 12/11/2021 09:18

Sadly I need to lose weight so can't pick between meals but if I could I would have a slice of toast cut into fingers with different toppings - marmite, cheese spread, peanut butter etc
