Can anyone who's done a home PCR test tell me how quickly you got your results? Thanks Smile

The answers will vary, probably quite widely. Look at some test providers and see what they say.

Joystir59 · 08/09/2021 17:54

It took a week after posting kit back

LBOCS2 · 08/09/2021 17:55

For travel or with the NHS? I put one in the post on Monday and had the result on Tuesday at about 5pm.

LBOCS2 · 08/09/2021 17:56

That was the standard community testing with symptoms

runwithme · 08/09/2021 17:56

Posted mine on Monday, got it back midday yesterday

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 08/09/2021 18:01

Posted some on Saturday night and got the results at 7-7.30am on Monday

EileenGC · 08/09/2021 18:05

Posted Friday 5pm, results back between 6 and 10pm Saturday night. But it was for travel, not NHS.

meltinginthisheat · 08/09/2021 18:41

Thanks all. It's a standard NHS one after coming into close contact with a positive case. Posted it at about 2:30 today so should have gone with the last post - hopefully it won't take too long

I’ve done a few NHS zones, they’ve all been back within 24 hours and the quickest was 12 hours.

Flowers12345 · 08/09/2021 18:52

24 hrs for me

Flowers12345 · 08/09/2021 18:53

We live in the Midlands if that's any help

JimmyLennon · 08/09/2021 18:53

Our NHS ones were posted on Friday night and we still haven't had them back!

pianolessons1 · 08/09/2021 18:57

Better to go to a walk or drive in site and it'll likely be back within 24 hours.

Yeah I did think that after I'd ordered them online. The samples are in the post now and I've no plans for the next few days, house stocked up, so I guess I'll just have to be patient!

I’ve done 2. First, sent off midday and results at 7am next day. Second took 24hrs

TheCanyon · 08/09/2021 19:26

We posted dds yesterday, was delivered to the lab at 7.59 last night, still waiting. Hoping it's in by tomorrow morning as her and her twin are missing each other something rotten during the day(she was sent home Monday morning as a close contact).

l2b2 · 08/09/2021 19:34

I've done two Home PCR tests.

1st took 2.5 days to come back and the 2nd 48 hours. I think the Priority postboxes usually collect the tests at 3pm; so you should be ok if you posted at 2:30pm OP.

AnnaDyne · 08/09/2021 19:38

My dd got hers back within 24 hours this week. Did it and posted it on Monday, result yesterday.

SoManyPaws · 08/09/2021 19:43

We posted Saturday afternoon and received email results at 1.30 am Monday morning so less that 36 hours later.

Nsws2015 · 08/09/2021 20:43

My daughter did one Sunday, was posted for last collection at 4pm, results back Monday 3.15pm

Crunchymum · 08/09/2021 21:03

How long is it taking to recieve the tests in the first place? Surely that add another 24h to how long things are taking?

(Just planning ahead as I have a "cougher" so assume she'll need testing before long)

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 08/09/2021 21:05

We've done six postal ones average is 48hrs whereas drive through average 24hours.

CaptainHammer · 08/09/2021 21:23

I post mine every Thursday morning around 9am and the results are back anytime between Friday 5pm - Saturday 1pm

We ordered Thurs pm and it was delivered Fri am. My son felt really ill so didn’t want to travel to a test centre.
