If you were on a table of 4…

Would you prefer to sit beside or opposite your DH?

OP posts:
Hopdathelf · 04/09/2021 08:41

Absolutely no preference. Presumably it’s for a few hours at most so does it really matter.

PrincessaCarrisi · 04/09/2021 08:41

Are there other people at the table? If it's just us we sit opposite.

Athrawes · 04/09/2021 08:44

Either. But not next to the other man (assuming 2 M-F couples). I am female.

FuckingFlumps · 04/09/2021 08:46

Next to. I'd rather be facing the other couple/diners so I could direct my conversation towards them.

MaybeAMoaner · 04/09/2021 08:47

Hmm never really thought about it but I think him being opposite would work out best

youngestisapsycho · 04/09/2021 08:50

Next to, so I don’t have to look at him 😆

Ariela · 04/09/2021 08:54

Round table is best.

Onlinedilema · 04/09/2021 08:54

Not sure but wouldn't want to sit next to another man if he typically manspreads.
My ex used to spread his elbows out and I used to push the arm closest to me back towards him. Got sick and tired of doing it and telling him to move.

GintyMcGinty · 04/09/2021 09:00

Not bothered at all.

Could even go for diagonally opposite

TheWeatherWitch · 04/09/2021 09:12

We always sit opposite, when we are in a group of 4, being two couples we go diagonal.

Just how we like it.

Mariell · 04/09/2021 09:19

Next to so that I am looking across to the other two.

Shirleyphallus · 04/09/2021 09:20

Why not next to the other man?
SkankingMopoke · 04/09/2021 09:31

If with another couple, next to. If with DCs, opposite.

Etinox · 04/09/2021 09:44

I am not a child so don’t have to sit next to my best friend.
But I do always nab the lady’s seat!

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 04/09/2021 09:46

if it's a train I get dh to book two opposite seats, then I can choose the forwards facing and put my feet up under the table, do my own long legged womanspreading.

Otherwise totally not bothered.

LordOfTheThings · 04/09/2021 09:46

No preference, but probably across from the other couple so we could talk directly to them.

2pinkginsplease · 04/09/2021 09:57

I’d prefer to sit next to my husband.

MMMarmite · 04/09/2021 09:59

Next to, as a preference. But any configuration is fine.

Sweetchocolatecandy · 04/09/2021 10:02

It’s a table plan for our wedding so we want to get it right! Couples would be sitting with other couples. I think beside but my partner thinks opposite…

Tooembarrassingtomention · 04/09/2021 10:02

No, he regurgitates food and a break from it is nice

Isn’t it round? Most weddings are

Will they know the other couple?
PotteringAlong · 04/09/2021 10:05

I don’t honestly think it matters. People will just move around on the table they are on if they want to!

AmelieLovesAutumn · 04/09/2021 10:06

I'd say sit couples same side facing the other couple.

Shirleyphallus · 04/09/2021 10:06

For a wedding I’d much prefer next to. Good to be able to switch drinks if you are secretly pregnant and need to / have someone to literally turn and speak to if the person opposite you is boring etc etc
