It’s a table plan for our wedding so we want to get it right! Couples would be sitting with other couples. I think beside but my partner thinks opposite…

I think if they are only 4 people per table they will swap the configuration round to their preference anyway. I've found at most weddings I've been to, people don't strictly keep to the table plans anyway. But if I had to make the decision just to get the table plan done I would put couples next to each other.
