What is your favourite book?

I want to read Bookseller of Kabul and Kiterunner again. I did love Kiterunner. Also not read a Thousand Splendid Suns which I think covers the history of Afghanistan more.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 01/09/2021 16:52

Just finished and lent my mum Rewind by Catherine Ryan Howard. Really enjoyed it even though its not something I'd normally choose, she's lent me The Thursday Murder Clubby Richard Osman in return.

One of my all time favourites that I often recommend for an easy read is An Offer You Can't Refuse by Jill Mansell

imnottoofussed · 01/09/2021 16:56

I'm reading The Castaways by Lucy Clarke

Not sure I have a favourite book really

An introduction to Persian (Thackston). Rivers of Power (Laurence C Smith) for light relief.

I don't have a favourite. I have multiple books that I enjoy reading again, but a single favourite would be very difficult. I keep "Notwithstanding" (Louis de Berniers) for bedtime reading, and have some Pratchett and Gaimain in my bedside stack, too.

What about you, OP? What are you reading?

I don’t have a favourite book. There are so many to choose from.

At the moment I am reading:
The Narrow Road To The Deep North by Richard Flanagan
Admissions by Henry Marsh
The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read by Philippa Perry

Currently reading The Vanishing Half by Britt Bennett.

Favourite (one of many, perils of working in a library!) A Thousand Splendid Suns, which I have just reread, prompted by the situation in Afghanistan.

FlowerPower3110 · 01/09/2021 20:44

I'm currently reading Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.

Favourite book is A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, it's heartbreaking but so so beautifully written.

I have Stephen King's new book waiting in the wings and I can't wait to start reading it!

I've just finished Inges: A Jacobean Tragedy of Murder, Witchcraft, Revenge, & Cats by John Brunsdon.

Recently I enjoyed Light Perpetual by Francis Spufford.

I don't have a favourite book - I rarely re-read books but I do keep those I enjoy, in case I do want to re-read.
