What are your favourite games to play at a table with teens

We sometimes play card games after dinner at the table if we are away. We usually take a couple of board games too. I'm now looking for recommendations of games that don't take up much space and can be played with a couple of teens after dinner. So not monopoly or big board games! Any you have enjoyed?

Just bought the Family edition of Cards Against Humanity to great hilarity - make sure it’s the family version though! And depends on your general tolerance for toilet humour…

Ordinary card games like rummy and bridge

Dixit is good.

We also like a bit of trivia, so I'm always on the hunt for that kind of thing, but not trivial pursuit.

Teens will still play dobble with us, because it's so easy yet infuriating.

We love the Mexican train game, similar to dominoes, very easy to pick up.

MirandaWest · 30/08/2021 14:31

We’ve enjoyed playing Articulate with our two (17 and 15). Also Cards against Humanity. We like playing Racing Demon and Black Maria with ordinary playing cards too.
Am taking note of some of the ideas above.

Dilbertian · 30/08/2021 14:43

If you're Taskmaster fans the game is brilliant. Not a boardgame as such, but brilliant fun. We've played it many times at home, with all the resources of home, but last week we took it camping with us and it was just as much fun with minimal resources.

(And even if you're not familiar with Taskmaster, but simply have a sense of humour and don't stand upon your own dignity, it's huge fun!)

My parents used to have a game that we always played with the teens when we stayed. It was a travel game - you travelled round the world - think you had to go to every continent or something, and you had to answer trivial Pursuit type questions. You can play as individuals or in teams. Needless to say I can't remember the name but someone else might. It takes hours to play and always involved much hilarity.

We also played a lot of scrabble, yahtzee, and ordinary cards games - pontoon etc. for pennies or sweets.
