Do you get this with socks? Or anything else?

I always get to a certain point in the evening when my socks have to come off. I rarely go without socks during the day because I’m always nipping in and out so putting trainers on and off. I never find socks uncomfortable but every evening without fail I suddenly get uncomfortable in them and the have to come off straight away. It’s not the same time every evening. Some days it could be 5pm and some days, like just now, it’s half 9.

I used to get this same sudden sensation with my hair when it was tied up and with my bra. I have short hair now so no ponytails and I don’t wear wired bras anymore so no more issues there.

Do you get this with anything?

Yes. I wear socks as infrequently as I can get away with, and when I do wear them I take them off as soon as I get home. It’s like my feet are claustrophobic.

ChocBeforeCock · 27/08/2021 21:38

Kind of - I get like it with socks in bed! As soon as I’m in bed my socks have to come straight off. Feet being claustrophobic is a good way to put it!

Miniroofbox · 27/08/2021 21:38

Yes. My feet get a weird sensation - not itching, but similar.

I get it with clothing in general
I walk in from work/being out and i just have to get the whole lot off and my pyjamas on
Oddly I’d cheerfully have my hair up all day and never take it out-its like I forget it’s up

BananaRama990 · 27/08/2021 21:39

Yes!! I can't explain it but they JUST HAVE to be removed usually in late afternoon/early evening.
It's like my feet get too warm or something...

I can’t wear socks in bed, I’d like to in the winter, but just can’t do it.

I’m one of those annoying people who wears leggings and tshirt all the time for precisely this reason! Grin otherwise I would be changing into pyjamas too as soon as I came in.

Yes, I do this! I literally can’t stand having them on and they have to come off

MrsRobbieHart · 27/08/2021 21:41

Grin I know for a fact if I trained my dog to do this she would be going for my feet all the time. She loves socks!

I only do this if I'm wearing trainer socks or footsies because it feels completely wrong without shoes. Ankle socks are fine with their full for coverage, but I find that semi feeling very distracting.

Ozberry · 27/08/2021 21:43

I think this is why some people don’t like wearing knickers in bed too

PhantomErik · 27/08/2021 21:43

Yes my feet get that claustrophobic feeling.

I have to take my shoes off as soon as I get in the house, I hate having to keep them on for any reason.

AlmostSummer21 · 27/08/2021 21:45

Yep, but it's just a heat thing, they get too hot! If they're not hot I don't get it.

drpaddington · 27/08/2021 21:55

Yes! Especially with those little tiny socks that you can wear so they don't show at the edge of your trainers. Sometimes get it with my hair tied up too, it starts to feel too heavy.

Zinfandelli · 27/08/2021 22:03

No, but I have a family member who does this. She then stuffs them down the side of the sofa cushions or leaves them on the floor for a couple of days. I wish she wouldn't.

Rainbowshit · 27/08/2021 22:06

Yes! I get it with lots of things. Leggings, socks anything skin tight.

But also particular jumpers if they contain any wool I can't bet to wear them in the evenings.

clemensiadove · 27/08/2021 22:15

Yes! Socks, bra and hair up all suddenly have to come off when they get uncomfortable to a point I can't take it any more!! It's weird.

icedcoffees · 27/08/2021 22:15

I can't wear socks unless I'm also wearing shoes. They really bother me 🤣

clemensiadove · 27/08/2021 22:17

I'm the opposite with knickers in bed, I immediately have to put some on if I realise I haven't got them on! I know it's healthier not to etc but I get a cold bum!
Snozzlemaid · 27/08/2021 22:19

I only wear socks when wearing boots in the winter. As soon as I get home they have to come off. Can't stand them at all.
I'm always bare foot at home, only occasionally wear slippers if my feet get a bit cold.

Squaffle · 27/08/2021 22:19

DH does this, always takes his socks off at around the same time every eve and leaves them on the floor next to the sofa Angry

For me it’s my hair, I wear it down for work but I have to tie it up as soon as I get home or I can’t relax…
