I saw Kerry Godliman on TV yesterday. I love her, she's so down to earth.
Rob and Romesh - I like them apart but together they're hilarious.
Make me smile this afternoon by telling me about yours Smile

I got asked out by Rob Newman. Just saying. He's very clever. And Patrick Marber. He's very clever too. Can't believe the choices I made....

Mickey Flanagan

@maras2

Henning Wehn.
I love Henning saw him live and he was really nice to everyone who wanted his autograph at the end and took the time to talk to everyone. He is massively underrated and didn't think anyone on here would even have heard of him.

@TheWayTheLightFalls - so glad to hear someone else say this about Reginald D Hunter. Me and DH saw him many years ago having found him funny on TV panel shows but his show was torture. It was all about his paranoia and conspiracy theories. So weird and uncomfortable. It actually put us off going to live comedy for ages.

Live stand ups that have been the best for me are Rob Brydon, Victoria Wood and have a massive soft spot for Harry Hill, having seen him 25 years ago when he was just starting out and several times since. Love the fact that he's not nasty about others but can still make me roar with laughter. See also Vic and Bob - they reran the last series of this on New Year's Eve and our DC were speechless at me and their DD crying with laughter Grin

Loved Ben Elton and Jo Brand back in the early 90’s when in uni and Joan Collins fan club now I’m really thinking about it. More recently no one has come close to Dara O’Briain for me his ability to weave in elements from audience throughout the lentgh of a show is incredible. So clever and funny too.

trilbydoll · 27/08/2021 20:49

John Robins is very good live. And Rhod Gilbert's stand up about an airline losing his luggage makes me cry with laughter no matter how many times I watch it.

SkiingIsHeaven · 27/08/2021 20:54

Rob Brydon. Brilliant standup.

UnalliterativeGeorge I’ve seen Greg live three times and he is ruddy brilliant. You deffo need to go see him. I love his sitcoms too but cannot bear to watch Taskmaster as I think it’s just not funny!

AlCalavicci · 27/08/2021 21:21

I am so glad to see Dave Allen mentioned so many times , i love him but I get that he is not everyone's taste.
victora wood
Les Dawson , esp when he is at the piano, nobody can play the wrong note so well !
but I think my all time favourite is Mike Harding , his story telling is so good , you want to believe them things really did happen .

In a slightly different field Spike Milligan was a pure genius
