Oodie or??

So the summer is ending and I’m dreading the long, cold winter ahead. I have fibromyalgia and the cold makes it feel so much worse. I’m seriously considering one of these as a style free comfy option. (I don’t work so no one will see!!) They are really expensive though. Worth it? Or are cheaper options just as good?
Thanks.

I can't speak to the cheaper options but I'll vouch for the Oodie, I love mine. Wouldn't be without it.

Unicornhorns · 26/08/2021 20:43

I’m thinking about getting one for the early school mornings as I’ll have to get DS out of the house by 7.15 and my house is freezing!

Ted27 · 26/08/2021 20:45

I love my oodie

I think they have a sale on now

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 26/08/2021 20:47

I love my oodie. Worth the money

GoodVibesHere · 26/08/2021 20:47

Dd has one but it's quite heavy to wear, you can't really do anything with it on as it's like lugging a blanket about. Fine for sitting on the sofa doing nothing I guess.

Sunny4876 · 26/08/2021 20:51

I bought my Dds cheaper ones from amazon and they invariably end up taking them off as they get too warm, fab for camping though and they don't find them too heavy.

Onlinehomeshop do great copies. Mine is fab

FlatteredFool · 26/08/2021 20:56

They'd be the new dressing gown of doom in our house. I'd find them too warm and prefer something I can easily take off or undo to let some air in.

Wolfiefan · 26/08/2021 20:58

Thanks. It would just be for sitting on the sofa watching an hour or two of TV!

Love my Oodie!

Peanutsandchilli · 26/08/2021 21:10

I bought my daughter one off Amazon for less than £20 and it's great. I couldn't believe the price of genuine oodies.

MeredithMae · 26/08/2021 21:13

My amazon fakey is great. I whip it off after half an hour, by which time I'm sweating!

Thewholeshackshimmy · 26/08/2021 21:14

My dd lives in her Odie knock off which I got from Studio. I’m getting one too, I have severe anaemia and dread the winter.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 26/08/2021 21:21

Love my oodie! My husband bought us the family pack for Christmas last year and we all think there amazing!

PricklesAndSpikes · 26/08/2021 21:33

Would anybody be willing to share the link to the Amazon cheapie? Would love to get my sister one for her birthday but Oodies are just too much! Thanks!

BarbaraofSeville · 26/08/2021 21:51

I got a Kuddly after reading a favourable comparison with oodies, which were out of stock anyway. It's very nice and good quality.

I think both Kuddly and Oodie operate the permanent sale from comedically high price that no-one ever pays model, so don't panic into buying because they're never going to be £100+.

Ozberry · 26/08/2021 21:55

I have the kudd.ly - it’s a bit cheaper than Oodie but ranked higher on a lot of review sites. It’s fab. I preferred the colours and patterns they had, but that’s just personal taste.

Imissmybum · 26/08/2021 21:56

Looking at the oodie website. Made from bloody polyester?! Wtf. 'Don’t be fooled by the word ‘sherpa’ though - this is a completely cruelty-free and vegan version of sheep’s fleece made from polyester'

42levelsandnolift · 26/08/2021 22:01

We have Rancross (cheapie) ones from Amazon. So warm and cosy in our drafty old house, kids curl up in them all the time paired with heat holder socks.

Wolfiefan · 26/08/2021 22:02

Can’t tumble dry the oodie. Can’t imagine it would dry quickly either. Maybe an alternative then!!

I hang mine on the clothes horse to dry all the time! It's a bit slow yes but not awful.
ColintheCrow · 26/08/2021 22:09

Dunnes. They're amazing and so warm.

Puffinhead · 26/08/2021 22:30

I bought DDs fake oldies last year and within days the seams were coming apart.
