Best hoover you've ever owned?

Argh, this is my 2nd shark in 18 months! Absolutely rubbish. A breathless, weak individual with no suction power After 5 mins use

I hate them. Please would you tell me the best hoover you've ever bought?

Vax blade.
The suction is amazing in boost mode and it’s really easy to manoeuvre.
You need the one with the twin battery packs though as I can’t do upstairs & down with one battery.

Sailth · 26/08/2021 12:06

Henry Hoover has lasted years and still very reliable.

A hoover. It was corded but lightweight, excellent at picking up hairs and just so easy to use.

TheRabbitStoleMyHat · 26/08/2021 12:37

Miele.

FiveShelties · 26/08/2021 12:39

Sebo excellent machine just does what it should do,

KatherineJaneway · 26/08/2021 12:39

Dyson big ball animal 2.

PluggingAway · 26/08/2021 12:40

I love my shark. Not had any issues. Only had it 2 months... Is it going to let me down? Sad

Yourstupidityexhaustsme · 26/08/2021 12:40

My Nana’s ‘hoover’ from the 1980’s.

Inherited it when we moved in together and barely had a pot to piss in. It was just meant to be a stop gap for a few months but we had it for ten years. It weighed a tonne and rumbled like a rabid but I hauled that fucker out monthly for a deep hoover.

The carpets were like brand new and always had a very sweet smell. I cried when she eventually died. I’ve found nothing that will ever compare.

Wannabegreenfingers · 26/08/2021 12:44

Also love my shark.....

Tronkmanton · 26/08/2021 12:44

Sebo

MyGrassIsBrowner · 26/08/2021 12:47

What model do you have though? The anti hair wrap and cordless ones are shit. I have the Shark Powered lift away TruePet and it's a trojan. Weighs a tonne but the suction on it is immense.

Karmagoat · 26/08/2021 12:49

Henry, had him for years and still going strong.

SomethingToldTheWildGeese · 26/08/2021 12:49

We've had our Vax 'Air Stretch' for 6 years. I chose it because it was recommended by Which and it really is brilliant!

feesh · 26/08/2021 12:50

We have a Miele Cat and Dog and a Shark and the Miele is the best one I’ve ever owned by a country mile.

insancerre · 26/08/2021 12:52

Miele

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 26/08/2021 12:54

Ive got a dyson thats about 15 years old. Its still very 'sucky' and its never broken. Cant complain!

WeAllHaveWings · 26/08/2021 12:55

Hate my 1 year old shark too. Bloody useless.

Best was a Dyson from 15 years ago, lasted 12 years until motor went. Tried another dyson (lightball?) and it wasn't that good so was lured to the shark.

When the shark gives up will probably try another dyson.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 26/08/2021 12:57

Our Henry is nearly 10 and still going strong. My parents one lived for 15 years (and was replaced with a Hetty)

boymum9 · 26/08/2021 12:58

I love my vax blade pet one but like someone else said you need the two batteries, but they do an offer that includes the 2 most places.

My mum would say the original sebo but she didn't replace her old one because said they had changed it or something, not sure

WeAllHaveWings · 26/08/2021 13:00

[quote MyGrassIsBrowner]For anyone who wants to check it out, this is the one I have...

Same one I have, it is rubbish with Labrador hair, dreadful to use on stairs as falls over constantly, weak on hard floors leaving bits behind. Hose clogs with dog hair at the bends and and I can't access easily to clear, filters need washed regularly or it loses power. Never had so unclog or clean filters so much on a vacuum before.

ChillyB · 26/08/2021 13:02

Henry hoover but get the pro tools kit to go with it as it has the spinning brush in the head to lift the dirt from the carpet fibres.
My Henry will be a teenager shortly.

I also have a vax blade 2 and that’s handy for a very quick Hoover round. Could’ve done with another battery to make it more useful, but it was only cheap in Lidl.

RainbowToes · 26/08/2021 13:10

Got a Henry a couple of years ago.
Love him!
