Are there any stores or companies you refuse to shop from or deal with?

As the thread title says - I have just decided to shop anywhere except a major high street electrical / computer company from now onwards after a couple of poor customer service issues. I shopped there from convenience, but I'm fed up with them now.
This got me thinking. I avoid any MLM, even though I really like some products I was given as a gift, and stores with poor ethics regarding production, worker treatment, etc.
Do you have any you actively avoid?

Primark, Shein, Boohoo - I'm not their market, but also discouraging DD from them or any 'fast fashion' (or more like landfill fashion)

Wetherspoons - after the vile way Tim whasisface dumped his entire staff over COVID.

Marmelace · 27/08/2021 21:44

Sports direct
Witherspoons

AnneElliott · 27/08/2021 21:44

I boycott several - once treated badly I don't ever go back. Some companies (yes BT looking at you) find that somewhat odd;
Lush
BT
WJ King
Treat Me
Always
Flora

Marmelace · 27/08/2021 21:45

Wetherspoons!

lachy · 27/08/2021 21:52

Body Shop
Any MLM
A local estate agent (total sleazeball)
Debenhams (not that it matters anymore about them)

MovinOnUp · 27/08/2021 21:52

Asda, their online grocery service screwed me over 11 years ago and I've never used them since.

larkstar · 27/08/2021 21:57

Bulb - gas/electric billing company. So many problems - lies and incompetence - won my case at ombudsman - all 5 complaints upheld - they paid the fine to me twice because they are in such a mess and so inept.

sqirrelfriends · 27/08/2021 21:59

Lush
Nestle
Ferraro

Asda, for no reason other than the lady on the till the last time I went was an utter bitch. I can't even begin to describe her attitude but it like being served by your childhood bully.
She didn't say a word at all, just seemed annoyed until she barked the amount at me. I asked if I could use contactless, she just flicked the price of plastic attached to the card reader (which said the limit).
When I left I wished her a really lovely day with my most cheerful smile, I think if she wasn't working she might have punched me.

Excelthetube · 27/08/2021 22:20

What’s wrong with lush?!!!!!
Other than it smells grim

SugarHouse1 · 27/08/2021 22:24

@Excelthetube I also want to know what’s wrong with Lush! And actually I love the smell.

AnneElliott · 27/08/2021 22:28

Lush had an awful advert that suggested the police were corrupt. That's my reason for not using them - plus the smell makes me heave.

happydays2345 · 27/08/2021 22:29

@ThatSunnyCorner

I wonder how Lush and Body Shop are still in business, they are boycotted by so many of us.
They really aren't love. MN is an echo chamber. In the real world no one cares about your little trans right quibbles. Most of us would prioritise a lack of animal testing. Have a nice evening 👍🏻 🏳️‍⚧️

Morrisons - rude disinterested staff, dirty run down stores and poor quality products, especially fruit and veg.

MLM's

Any company which tests on animals e.g. Avon, Estee Lauder owned companies.

Body Shop as owned by L'Oréal.

Wetherspoons

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 27/08/2021 22:31

@happydays2345

We’re concerned with women’s rights. All the passive aggressive emojis in the world won’t change that.

Barkingdog · 27/08/2021 22:31

I boycott Lush due to their support of hunt saboteurs (I am against fox hunting but hunt saboteurs are dangerous) and anti police campaign.

Lakeshore6 · 27/08/2021 22:48

Lush for their ill-thought campaigns in the past but certainly more so for the staff and the way they won’t leave you in peace.

Especially if you have coloured hair. You’re fucked.

(And whatever they will recommend for your hair will just strip it 😅)

8dpwoah · 27/08/2021 22:49

It's the anti-police campaign that put me off Lush too initially and then picking up more info from on here I'm glad I haven't been in there for years. I do really like one of their shampoos but I can live without it!

tinkerbellla · 27/08/2021 22:51

Benson's for Beds. Worst service I've ever had. Just awful. Also & Other Stories because of the faff involved in doing a return.

L'Oréal sold The Body Shop a while back, it's now owned by Natura.

chitchatchatter · 27/08/2021 23:51

RAC who took 10 hours to respond to a call out. Then eventually sent out a tow truck that couldn't tow the car, the equipment was faulty. Mid-week, not at a busy seasonal time, no particular road or traffic incidents causing a delay. They were just shite. Refused to acknowledge there was an issue, nor take any responsibility or even apologise. Never, ever again.

Like others, Wetherspoons, JD Sports and Curry's.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 27/08/2021 23:54

Loads saying Wetherspoon..why ?

Classica · 27/08/2021 23:55

Loads saying Wetherspoon..why ?
The owner is a cock.
SecondCityShark · 28/08/2021 00:00

Wowcher. Always total crap.

Hisense (not a shop I know but...) everything is so poorly put together.

And MLMs.

SecondCityShark · 28/08/2021 00:02

Oh and BodyShop.

I emailed them about the whole JK Rowling incident and I didn't even receive a reply. Fuck 'em.

safariboot · 28/08/2021 03:13

Oh yeah Wetherspoons for me too. The owner didn't just support Brexit, he put campaign material on every table in every one of his pubs.
