Please Sad

I know I'm fine. I'm just not coping with some chest pain that is 99% down to a vomiting bug that has brought covid symptoms with it (covid test was negative).

Woken up really uncomfortable. Trying to get enough air and my chest feels constricted on the right side. Been sat in a hot bath and taken ibuprofen half an hour ago and feeling worse not better. My brother died unexpectedly of heart failure recently at a young age. He couldn't catch his breath and rang an ambulance but they couldn't save him. I'm sure the anxiety is compounding this. I've got a one year old and am so scared I'm dying

ItsAChallengingWank · 23/08/2021 00:49

Oh gosh poor you. Can you distract yourself by watching something funny? Go and stand outside and look at stars?

shesellsseacats · 23/08/2021 00:50

It's much more likely to be the vomiting bug than the same thing as your brother but I can totally understand how it would play on your mind at an emotional level.

I'm sorry for your loss.

OK, passing the time, shall I tell you about my day?

Biscuitandacuppa · 23/08/2021 00:50

Do you feel sick? Does the pain radiate through your chest into your back?
Could be gallstones.

ItsAChallengingWank · 23/08/2021 00:50

Tell us about your day op, might help to take your mind off it while you wait for the call

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 23/08/2021 00:51

Panic attacks can cause very similar symptoms to heart attacks, so it is more than likely as you said, you're not well and anxious, so it's causing you to panic which is then making the symptoms worse, which of course causes panic etc etc. Vicious circle.

EnglishRain · 23/08/2021 00:53

Chest pain is upper right quadrant but goes to top of my stomach in waves of tightness. Think anxiety definitely a part have been getting palpitations too. Normally a trooper when I am sick.

DH with the baby who is crying. Did 111 online and it said get a call back.

Would love to hear about anyone's day

OP posts:
ItsAChallengingWank · 23/08/2021 00:57

I'm glad your dh is there. Let him sort out the baby for now, they will both be fine

Definitely sounds like a panic attack if you've palpitations too. You'll get through these few minutes op as unpleasant as it is

EnglishRain · 23/08/2021 00:57

Does anyone knii ou W if sitting or lying is better?

OP posts:
ItsAChallengingWank · 23/08/2021 01:00

My day was very lazy. Had a lie in and geared myself up for some scrambled egg but it wasn't cooked enough and the dog ended up having it 😏
Took full dog out for a good walk along the river, was very busy today.
Did the bare minimum of house work today.
Ordered two new frying pans....I know, rock n roll!!
Smelly Stilton and crackers for supper

What did you do today ?

ItsAChallengingWank · 23/08/2021 01:00

Lying down with feet elevated a little

BlackeyedSusan · 23/08/2021 01:04

Actually went to church in church instead of on Zoom. Only the second time since March 2020. Seats separated in pairs/ singles.
Hand gel everywhere, all masked. Singer behind a screen.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 23/08/2021 01:04

I've had a very lazy day today. DS1 was out with friends, so I stuck Netflix on and snuggled up with the younger 2.
They are as obsessed with shrek as I am Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 23/08/2021 01:06

Oh and ds was back from holiday with his dad and then installed himself on the computer Minecrafting.

BlackeyedSusan · 23/08/2021 01:07

They always sit the heart patients up slightly ona trolley in the ambulance TV shows...

Caligal · 23/08/2021 01:10

I’m sorry but as someone with diagnosed panic disorder a panic attack is a lot more pronounced than discomfort...it does feel like a heart attack and like you are drowning all at once so I’m sorry but it is not a panic attack.

However chest discomfort with general anxiety is very common, you can have indigestion for example and feel a tightness in your chest and then that can lead to thoughts of worst case scenario etc.

If anxiety isn’t a factor then of course you can also have chest tightness etc from an infection and lots of other things.

I’m sorry you are going through this OP and so sorry to hear about your brother too.

What’s your favourite tv show in the world? I’m interested, what do you do for a living, tell us about yourself for distraction Smile

Hen2018 · 23/08/2021 01:21

Try relaxing back against cushions with a cushion under your knees (so your legs aren’t stuck out straight). Hope you get a call back soon.

My day has been dull as my oldest has coronavirus so we’re all isolating together. We’ve played board games and done the online pub quiz. It’s like another lockdown!

EnglishRain · 23/08/2021 01:41

Think I fainted went light headed and woke up on the floor from siting on the sofa but have had a temperature and felt lightheaded fell into the doorframe earlier and smacked my head too. Feeling pathetic for having rung 111 but just don't know what to do with myself

OP posts:
HerRoyalRisesAgain · 23/08/2021 01:43

Don't feel pathetic, they're there to help. If you fainted it may be worth giving them a other call and explaining you're waiting on a call back but you've had something else happen.

beigebrownblue · 23/08/2021 01:45

Hang in there love.
