Please Sad

I know I'm fine. I'm just not coping with some chest pain that is 99% down to a vomiting bug that has brought covid symptoms with it (covid test was negative).

Woken up really uncomfortable. Trying to get enough air and my chest feels constricted on the right side. Been sat in a hot bath and taken ibuprofen half an hour ago and feeling worse not better. My brother died unexpectedly of heart failure recently at a young age. He couldn't catch his breath and rang an ambulance but they couldn't save him. I'm sure the anxiety is compounding this. I've got a one year old and am so scared I'm dying

Yes, I agree OP. Don't sit and wait patiently for them to call. Losing consciousness is a concern. It's scary to say call 999 but maybe you should. Or at least call back 111 again to update.

I went to the hospital this evening, and just got back. Emergency trip with my elderly mum. She was convinced that it was something awful but they couldn't find anything wrong. They were very thorough, checked everything. They couldn't explain her symptoms but it seems that all is well. Hopefully you'll be fine too, OP, but it's always better to get it checked out.

I agree with everyone saying 999.
Your condition has got worse and you need to be assessed asap.

quietlyspoken08 · 23/08/2021 03:02

Hope you are okay and have either had the call back now or have contacted 999. Don't ever feel silly about calling for help it is what it is there for and we are not all medical professionals who can judge this stuff ourselves. Better to be safe than sorry. Sending best wishes your way.

It sounds very much like gallstones, does the pain go round the back? The only relief I got was from a hot water bottle, I spent hours on my knees with my bum in the air & a hot water bottle on my chest, can you remember what you ate before the pain started?

splitnighthelp · 23/08/2021 03:17

What sort of covid test have you done? A PCR? As this sounds very similar to the experience me and my friend have just had with covid

Really hope you are at the hospital

Hit your head earlier, now your having blackouts

999 / A&E now

Wannabangbang · 23/08/2021 04:07

I'd call 999 op, you are having black outs after a head injury. It's best to be seen urgently xx

Coachradley · 23/08/2021 04:44

Why haven’t you taken yourself to a&e???

VirgilStarkwell · 23/08/2021 05:29

Gosh OP, I hope you are ok. Flowers

Bagelsandbrie · 23/08/2021 07:38

Hope you are now being treated op. When you fainted you (or dh) should have rung 999. Flowers

Morning everyone, thank you for keeping me company last night.

Whatever it was eased after a few hours as I managed to fall asleep in a funny position on the floor. I got a check in call at 4.05am and said I thought I was OK so they could cancel the nurse call. The online thing I did said I would get a call from a nurse by 1.38am, so I guess they must have been really busy.

When my brother died we all bought oximeters so I had found and put that on, my blood oxygen was staying over 95 which helped calm me down a bit.

I don’t mean to worry you op but 95 isn’t a great result for oxygen levels - ideally you want it around at least 98. I think you need to be seen in A and E and have an ecg and some blood tests.

I think you should still go in and get looked at.
