What would you spend £200 on ?

So I have £200 to spend on treats for me.

I don't need to put it towards any large items. I recently bought a (pink) kitchenaid stand mixer which has been on my wishlist since forever, so that's crossed off my wishlist. I have other household things on my wishlist but I don't want to put this money towards anything house related.
I've recently bought all the autumn candles from homesense. I'm also trying to lose a few pounds so nothing food related really.
I had my birthday recently so have new perfume too. I also have plenty of clothes for now, but will probably need more autumnal pieces. A denim jacket would be nice now that I think about it! (Answering my own thread now Grin)

Give me some ideas. What would you spend £200 on, just for little treats for you?
Be as frivolous as you want Grin

Boots. I just bought a pair off ebay which I do like but would love a pair of brown suede knee boots.

Personal trainer.

LostPencilSOS · 20/08/2021 23:11

@PermanentTemporary oooh personal trainer. You clever thing.

I'd really have to pluck up the courage though. My fitness is appalling. I can't dance for 3 minutes without gasping for breath Sad

A new pair of headphones. Not the in-ear type, the ones that are massive over your head.

If I have money left over I'm in desperate need of some new trainers extra wide skechers

Jumpingintosummer · 20/08/2021 23:13

I would go with a spa day.

LostPencilSOS · 20/08/2021 23:20

Oh I do love a good over the ears headset. Although I did recently have a nasty fall while out walking and wearing them. It will teach me to act like a cool teenager at the ripe old age of 37 Grin

Not clever. Fat and unfit. Not motivated at the moment. Thing about fitness is it picks up ridiculously fast if you get going regularly [downloads couch25k yet again]

Muddydoor · 20/08/2021 23:22

A massage and a few good books

Galassia · 20/08/2021 23:23

Sunglasses. I wear them all year round. TK Maxx often have something decent ones in classic styles.

LostPencilSOS · 20/08/2021 23:26

@PermanentTemporary you are right, it does. Let's do it together 💪🏼

I’ve currently got about £90 worth of houseplants in my amazon basket, so I’d probably buy those, and add a large green friend to join them (instead of cheaping out with the small ones!), and some pretty plant pots to put them in. Or a Tiffany floor lamp if the one I want is in stock.

If I wasn’t allowed anything house related I’d argue the plants are for me and my mh I’d go for a back massage and get my hair sorted out once and for all.

PermanentTemporary · 20/08/2021 23:27

Right! Off for a run. Tomorrow. I'm drunk rn

EATmum · 20/08/2021 23:29

Last time I had vouchers and no clear idea of what to spend them on, I was walking through John Lewis and spied an ugly (lime green and blue) sewing machine in the sale for £40. I bought it, a cheap pattern and some fabric and took it home.

Best impulse decision ever - making clothes has become a genuine pleasure and hobby for me, and 8 years later I'm still a convert. Is there anything like that that you might want to try?

starsinthegutter · 20/08/2021 23:30

Really good massage or spa treatment.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 20/08/2021 23:34

I got a pair of Dr martens a few weeks ago. I bloody love them but haven't had them on yet. Waiting for the colder weather. Also going to get a khaki jacket from superdry, and a nice scarf for the winter. Not that I can wear them much as I have quite an active job and they get in the way and make me too hot. Just want a nice soft one.

episcomama · 20/08/2021 23:35

Book. And then more books 😀

OverByYer · 20/08/2021 23:37

AirPods

BikeRunSki · 20/08/2021 23:37

Some good leather boots for the winter

feb2022 · 20/08/2021 23:39

I'd probably spend it on Halloween stuff tbh 😂

LostPencilSOS · 20/08/2021 23:47

@EATmum I would love to be into something like that, but I just feel like I'm rubbish at anything creative ! So I'm abit reluctant to spend money on all the gear and then never using it.

Already have airpods.

Halloween stuff : haha that is right up my street ! I absolutely adore decorating the house for Halloween season however it is usually more subtle autumn vibe rather than the witches and skulls - and I've already raided homesense three times for this autumns decor BlushGrinGrin

A night away in a spa hotel, just me being pampered and relaxing

ConsuelaHammock · 21/08/2021 00:17

An oodie, crochet hooks, pretty plant pots and plants, books, art prints, a paddle board ( would need some more for this ) , a wetsuit.

GingerBrod · 21/08/2021 00:19

Kate Spade handbag.

Oooooh let me think! Love a bit of fantasy shopping!

It's not really frivolous but it's something I do really want-fold up exercise bike so I can finally start doing some exercise I know I enjoy at home while I wait for the bloody DCs to get on with being confident on their bikes and just let us go out cycling together! I'm a single mum so going to the gym/out of the house on my own isn't feasible on a regular basis. And fold up is genius because I can put it in the cupboard and not turn it into a clothes horse!

Starting a new job in a couple of weeks and really fancy a Nordqce backpack to be all organised and swish and have room for my new work laptop

Do a serious make up overhaul, I swear some of the stuff in my collection came free off the cover of Just Seventeen

Maybe make a bit of a dent in project wardrobe and get some new clothes. Probs not though because I'd rather buy nice things once I'm back to a fitter body shape (see exercise bike above!) I do REALLY fancy a pair of dungarees though (for some reason they are just right for my body type, suit me far more than jeans and now I've realised that I want all the dungarees in all the colour ways and options). Got my eye on pairs from Lucy and Yak and Run and Fly

I think denim jacket is a great idea personally, you could get a really well made and nicely fitted one and still have some money left over for accessories 😉

Oooh shoes. Some ankle boots maybe.

Subscription of some type-what do you like? I've just signed up to Box of Stories. Four 'hidden gems' books sent to me every three months for about £15. First box arrived last week and every book looks great! Or a six month coffee or plant or beauty box subscription or something. Nothing is more joyous than getting a parcel of nice things through the post every so often and discovering brands or people you wouldn't have tried before!

Thanks OP for letting me indulge in some fantasy shopping!

clary · 21/08/2021 03:40

New running shoes - really nice ones for £200.

Or an advent calendar, maybe Fortnum and Mason or Space NK
