I'm off to town today to check a dormant account.

I've had a letter from Santander to say I have q dormant Instant Saver account so I am heading into town to find out how much is in there.

Anyone want to help guess?

For background, I opened the account over 15 years ago and at that time was earning about £28k.

I drove a new car and saved up enough to travel the world, but what is left in this forgotten account.

Did I stash a cheeky grand. Or £100 to open it. Or is it empty or maybe containing £4.36.

I'm quite excited.

What do you all think?

This is going to be another Victorian Safe thread, isn’t it?

IHateCoronavirus · 20/08/2021 15:39

I’m guessing £187.31 but hoping for ten times that for you.

OK. I'm back.

Just putting the kettle on and will update very soon!

My thoughts too... Though I'm wondering what the "champagne threshold" would actually be. Where's the tipping point between popping the kettle on , and popping a cork. £300? £500? More?

I won an art competition at college but the art teacher was a complete a*hole and never told me, other students got to go to an exhibition of our work in central London and a presentation of prize winners. Teacher ‘forgot’ to tell me. A month or so later I received my prize through the post, lots of art materials and an abbey national savings account with £25 in it!

I propose this scale.
Prosecco news £50
Champagne news £100
Vintage champagne news £500.

FairFuming · 20/08/2021 15:54

I think £232.13

Laiste · 20/08/2021 15:55

This is some kind of bet isn't it?

How many posts can i get on my thread?

SD1978 · 20/08/2021 15:55

Not a helpful update.....HmmHmmHmm

HollowTalk · 20/08/2021 15:56

I'm guessing £780.

FelicityBeedle · 20/08/2021 15:56

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats
I agree Prosecco for £50 but champagne is probs at least £200. Say £20 a bottle and that’s 20% of your £200 gone?

MonkeyPuddle · 20/08/2021 15:56

£76.52

pinkpandaa · 20/08/2021 15:59

I'm here just to be nosey on the update Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/08/2021 15:59
