What do you buy when you have the urge to shop?

If you fancy a new buy, or just to spend some money, what's your go to thing?

A fancy basket of food shopping from the supermarket? New workout gear? Beauty products?

Do you have a certain thing that you go to when you fancy treating yourself?

I'm not sure I have a certain thing. I like deals so can be swayed if I see something online that looks like a good deal. That I probably wouldn't have bought if it wasn't for the deal.

I go to Homesense. I never leave that shop empty handed. Usually some kind of serving bowl, water bottle, kitchen utensil, storage box, stationery or candle.

QueenHofScotland · 16/08/2021 21:28

Skin care!

Mixitupalot · 16/08/2021 21:40

I don’t do it very often about once every 3 years but I buy a designer handbag.

I am not really into anything else and never fancy just going shopping so that’s my treat.

Antinerak · 18/08/2021 13:09

Home decor bits. I love homesense and TK Maxx, especially now they have halloween products in. Candles, cushions, bedding, plants. I love clothes shopping too. I go shopping fairly regularly but its not always 'treats' or expensive. My only real splurges are on shoes or stationery.

Essential oils and/or skincare. So much fun. So much money Blush

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 18/08/2021 13:14

Clothes!

HerRoyalNotness · 18/08/2021 13:16

I go to Target and things just jump into my trolley.

lucysmam · 18/08/2021 13:16

Craft stuff - my current craft is crochet so yarn or hooks or stitch markers. Or festive stuff since Christmas is on the way!

Or notebooks/pens. Don't have to be expensive, I just like new notebooks and pens :)

Galassia · 18/08/2021 13:17

Yarn, crochet hooks and beauty products as you can never have enough of any of these!

Laserbird16 · 18/08/2021 13:23

Children's books

KurtWilde · 18/08/2021 13:31

Kitchen ware is my absolute go to. I can never have enough kitcheny things. And stuff for the home in general - throws, cushions etc. I love tkmaxx and now the Halloween items are in I'm in heaven every time
I shop there. My house has a gothic look all year round anyway!

OhGiveUp · 18/08/2021 13:32

It's not very often that I go into the city, but when I do I tend to buy all kinds of random stuff.
The last time I came home with an ashtray! No one in my household smokes, but it was pretty.
A set of spatulas. Why? I don't need any. 🤷
A cooling mat for the dog which he refuses point blank to use.
A pair of shoes which have never been seen since. I know I brought them home, but I have no idea what happened to them after that.

Pattygonia · 18/08/2021 13:32

If I feel I need to justify it to myself, I often go to charity shops, then in my mind I’m treating it as a donation. Or I look for a perfect present for a friend or family member for their next birthday/Christmas. To be honest I’ve got enough “stuff” so I’ve also learned to enjoy just window shopping and looking at lovely things (eg in Liberty or in the upper non-food floors at Fortnum’s) without actually buying them and taking them home with me.

But that doesn’t mean I never treat myself - when i do, it will often be something for the garden (or delicious bath oil to recuperate in after gardening,)

midlifecrash · 18/08/2021 13:37

Often some type of food I've not tried before.

Mangosteens are lovely (not had until this year)

LondonTTC · 18/08/2021 13:39

'Fancy' vegan cheese from Kinda Co. It's amazing

Nocaloriesinchocolate · 18/08/2021 13:51

Books, books and books.

impressivelycunty · 18/08/2021 14:18

Stationery

Bettyboop3 · 18/08/2021 16:18

A new candle, pjs and books are my go to buys!

Mol1628 · 18/08/2021 16:20

Body jewellery or candles.

niceupthedanceagain · 18/08/2021 16:20

Flowers
Or tarot cards

Goodtohear · 18/08/2021 16:21

Books.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 18/08/2021 16:22

Also houseplants - I have 15 😂

DaisyDozyDee · 18/08/2021 16:24

Am I weird? I never get this feeling. It’s always the other way round. I want some books/stationery/furniture/treat snacks, so I need to spend some money to get them. Not “I want to spend money, so I should choose something to buy”.

Goodthings · 18/08/2021 16:25

Clothes. Occasionally a house thing or gadget or technology.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 18/08/2021 16:26

Books. Lots of them. Which I often then hide from my husband because he just doesn't understand. Grin
