Buy some bleach and/or cut it up with a stick

NiceTwin · 16/08/2021 08:21

Get your hand down there.

goingtotown · 16/08/2021 08:22

Bathroom bin, fill it with hot water tip it in the pan from a high height.

Hopeisallineed · 16/08/2021 08:23

Coat hanger? (A metal one!)

piefacedClique · 16/08/2021 08:23

Any wire coat hangers around? Open it out so it’s straight and have a good poke around should do it! Or throw a few kettles of boiling water down it

Yutes · 16/08/2021 08:23

Mum, is that you?

AlwaysLatte · 16/08/2021 08:23

Go for a walk and get a stick (strong enough not to snap and make it worse!)

careerchangeperhaps · 16/08/2021 08:24

Assuming the blockage is biological rather than 'lady products' or excessive loo roll:

You need a poo knife Grin

More practical - use the kettle in your room to heat some water and then pour on said blockage (best not have the water actually boiling though in case you crack the ceramic - hot - very hot will do). Leave the hot water to soften the blockage for 20-30 mins then plunge with toilet brush and flush. You may need to repeat a few times. Adding a squirt of soap / shower gel may help soften / lubricate things further.

Am I the only one that would call housekeeping?

TheReluctantPhoenix · 16/08/2021 08:26

The whole point of an expensive hotel (well, at least one of them) is efficient unobtrusive service.

Call housekeeping and tell them that there is a problem with the loo which needs urgently sorting out.

WarmAndFluff · 16/08/2021 08:28

I was wondering this @PurBal - they probably have a plumber on call if it's a large hotel!

Iimaginethiswillbefun · 16/08/2021 08:28

I’ve called them and snuck off to breakfast. Blush

Quite right. Unfortunately, that’s part of their job.

Maybe avoid prunes for breakfast 😏

TheVolturi · 16/08/2021 08:37

Can i ask what you ate in the last two days? I need to firm up my poo 💩

Iimaginethiswillbefun · 16/08/2021 08:42

I’m taking iron tablets my stomach is in shreds. It took me half an hour to go!

ancientgran · 16/08/2021 08:45

I feel for you OP, I react terribly to iron and I often need it. Have you tried bromelain? You can get it in health food shops, it is the extract of pineapple and I find it wonderful, solves the problem painlessly. Might be worth a try.

ancientgran · 16/08/2021 08:46

Sorry just thought that won't help the current problem but might be worth it going forward.

Mybalconyiscracking · 16/08/2021 08:48

Are you in the States?
I am never sure how the greatest democracy on earth can never muster a decent flush.

IcedPurple · 16/08/2021 08:50

@goingtotown

This.

I'm currently rending a flat with shit (pun intended) water pressure and even a modest poo jams up the system. The only thing that works is simultaneously flushing and chucking down a bucket - or whatever largish container you have to hand - of preferably hot water.

Try it.

Naaaaah · 16/08/2021 08:52

God, the shame of actually asking housekeeping or whoever to actually deal with your own unflushable poo.

I know! Put a bag on your hand and get it down there! How disgusting to expect someone else to move your shit for you.
SnakesAndRubies · 16/08/2021 08:55

@Yutes

Mum, is that you?
This is a very under appreciated comment Grin
Iimaginethiswillbefun · 16/08/2021 08:56

@Yutes I did giggle but am sweating with fear.

I really don’t think moving a log that has blocked the toilet because someone is on iron tablets (take fybogel op) is in the job description of a hotel employee. Terrible ‘I pay your wages’ type attitude.
