I think a sports top could have sleeves, and it could also be sleeveless with no midrift

The navy I would say is a sleeveless blouse.
A tank to me is like the black in that it is worn over another layer.

This is market research, different people are saying different things in real life and I want to see what the general consensus is.

A tank top is a knitted sleeveless jumper worn over something else. A vest top is a summer sleeveless top and a vest is an undergarment.

I can't see the photos from my post 🤷‍♂️ but basically a tank is a sleeveless layer over another.
I would call what I think you are describing as a sleeveless top/blouse.

Does this only apply to bra strap width tops?

Just a top, or a sleeveless top. A vest top has to have thinner straps. I guess it could be called a tank top but I feel like that's what an American would call it I wouldn't.

I call a sleeveless v- neck jumper over another top a ‘tank top’ but my daughter calls it a vest or a vest -top e.g an Argyle vest. To me, a vest is a strappy top or what a child/ old man wears as an undergarment.

If its got thin straps then I'd say a strap top or vest top (if under clothes).
If just a normal top without sleeves then I'd say a sleeveless top. I'd never use the term tank top.
