I appreciate that a lot will be salary, but if you worked it out, what do you earn an hour?

£21.50 per hour as an NHS therapist.

In the private sector my profession charges £60-100 per hour.

Cailleach · 01/08/2021 17:56

44, £9.35

DrSeuss · 01/08/2021 17:59

After tax, £10/h. I have a degree, a PGCE and over twenty years teaching experience but currently work as a SEN TA. A parent at my daughter’s school seriously accused me of only doing my job for the money! I pointed out that I could earn more in Aldi!

Kezzie200 · 01/08/2021 17:59

I have two jobs. One is £32. The other £65.

First is 3 days a week. Second about 1 day a week but it bunches up as its contract work.

Self employed accountant, £25 per hour after business expenses.

bigbaggyeyes · 01/08/2021 18:03

Late 40s, employed, £25 per hour

MissCruellaDeVil · 01/08/2021 18:03

Mid 20's, paid £35 an hour if you go on my contracted hours and decide my salary (excluding bonuses etc) but with the overtime I do it probably works out about £6!

SlightlyJaded · 01/08/2021 18:05

Late forties, no degree. £50 - £55 p/h. But freelance so not working/ being paid every hour of every day.

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 01/08/2021 18:10

Late 40s, degree, piano teacher. Between £40 and £50 per hour depending on level of student.

RuthW · 01/08/2021 18:11

I'm 53 and earn £12 in a job I absolutely love. No qualifications post o levels other than those gained at work.

Bluetoybear · 01/08/2021 18:27

55..£40 per hour......I hate my job! Sad. I have been here for 18 years. LNot worth the stress!.. on the sick at the moment with full pay due to having shoulder surgery and sciatica at the same timeSad going to rethink once I get well... Husband says I can go for a less stressful job with less pay once I am back to full health. I have my eye on a vacancy at our local swimming baths booking people in etc! Money is not everything. I would love to come home on a night and just chill out without being on call all of the timeSmile

About £13. No degree, 40.

Lolly34h · 01/08/2021 18:48

£10.50 an hour work for a championship football team as a stand manager of the concession kiosks on match days only

blahblahblah321 · 01/08/2021 19:39

Early 40's, qualified, experience on and off for 20+ years - £9ph.

It's definitely not a job you do for money, TBH if my DH wasn't a high earner (he earns more in an hour than I get in a shortish day), then I wouldn't be able to afford to do it!

milkytwilight · 01/08/2021 19:40

28, £18ph, give or take a penny

Spottybluepyjamas · 01/08/2021 19:43

Mid thirties, 2 degrees, and £50 per hour

ScienceSensibility · 01/08/2021 19:47

Management Consultant c£125 per hour but I am not full time. I am charged out at £500-600 per hour.
I have an MBA and Doctorate in my specialism.

wonkylegs · 01/08/2021 19:49

My hourly rate is £60 an hour however this translates to quite a lot less when you realise lots of work isn't chargeable (accounts, admin, enquiries, CPD etc)

Yes indeed. What someone is charged out is often 3 or 4 times what they earn after all the overheads, expenses and non chargeable time is taken into account. That’s what people don’t appreciate.
BananaMilkshakeWithCream · 01/08/2021 19:56

Just checked, £15.65

TheTallOakTrees · 01/08/2021 20:16
When I was teaching I remember once me and my friend were worked out that although we were officially paid £32.50/hr, when we worked out the real number of hours we did it was something like £1.25/hr.
So you worked 26 hours each week for every hour you were paid.

Really. Grin
