How old is she

Rina66 · 01/08/2021 11:38

I like playing Scabby Queen with the 8+, think it's just Old Maid but with a new name.

StrawberriCream · 01/08/2021 11:41

We play seven's, Uno, a game we call jammy but think it's actually known as shithead, Jim rummy. Ours are 6,10+12 and all enjoy these games

Exploding Kittens
Uno

Not a card game but Boggle is fun as well.

Savannahnanana · 01/08/2021 11:44

Dobble is good.

lucysmam · 01/08/2021 12:04

Bluebells she's nearly 12.

I forgot about Boggle, she does play that sometimes online! Her y6 teacher introduced it to their online registrations. I'll have a look for Boggle now.

We've got Uno but nothing else that appeals to her atm.

AbstractHeart · 01/08/2021 12:10

Monopoly Deal for sure

AbstractHeart · 01/08/2021 12:11

Maybe Splendour?

TodaysFishIsTroutALaCreme · 01/08/2021 12:12

5 crowns. I love it and my family won't play it with me nearly as much as I would like them to.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 01/08/2021 12:12

Cribbage, rummy.

If there are more than two of you, knock out whist and sevens.

TodaysFishIsTroutALaCreme · 01/08/2021 12:14

Pressed send too early. It's like gin rummy on steriods

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 01/08/2021 12:15

Another vote for Dobble, there are different versions but the original is good

Upset2021 · 01/08/2021 12:16

Uno Flip, if she likes Uno she should like this, there's a whole other side to the cards with different penalties, fast moving as you switch between the sides when you have a flip card!

CountingToThree · 01/08/2021 12:18

I second Uno flip. And maponimoes is good

NotThatSocial · 01/08/2021 12:19

Sleeping Queens is brilliant, DH and I enjoy it as much as the kids (5 and 8).

Upset2021 · 01/08/2021 12:20

Also check out Sequence

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 01/08/2021 12:21

We love Monopoly Deal. Me and ds have spent many a happy hour in caravans, trains, tents, hostel rooms and lockdowns playing it. It involves so much more strategy than the board game. It's nothing like the board game really. A game takes about 15 mins.

iklboo · 01/08/2021 12:23

Crazy 8s is good fun. DS(15) really enjoys playing it and you use a standard set of cards too.

Natsku · 01/08/2021 13:20

If there's at least 3 of you then declaration whist is a good game, taught my 10 year old it recently and we've been playing almost every evening with my parents.

For two people chinese patience is good (this is what we always called it, though when I google chinese patience I can only find one reference that fits the game I know) spectrumcomputing.co.uk/zxsr.php?id=934 except we don't put the aces down at the beginning, instead they're in the player's piles and you can choose whether or not to put an ace out unless there's an empty space in the centre, in which case you must play an ace if you turn one over

cheeseismydownfall · 01/08/2021 13:24

Avacado Smash has been a surprise hit in our house. I bought it based on good reviews and was a bit disappointed when I read through the rules as it didn't seem all that exciting, but the gameplay is actually really fun.

2021V2 · 01/08/2021 13:28

Ordinary cards and a book of different card games, Uno, Dobble, Old Maid, any of the Top Trumps games.
