@ginsparkles, hope your day went as planned.

@LlamaofDrama well done on getting straight back on things. Hope you had a lovely holiday, the weight will soon come back off.

Had a good day food wise. Bought a steamer for the first time and so impressed. We did our potatoes and veg in it today and the cauliflower in particular was delicious and all really healthy too. Activity wise was minimal. Sundays tend to be a lazy day just hanging out with DH so I’m happy with that. Will go for my run again tomorrow as usual

ginsparkles · 15/08/2021 19:41

@EssexLioness ..... the wheels fell off! Ugh!!!!! I have noooo will power!

Given my head a wobble and will sort myself out tomorrow.

EssexLioness · 15/08/2021 20:24

@ginsparkles Oops! Consider your head well and truly wobbled! 😉you behave yourself tomorrow and check in with us all… seriously though it’s just a blip. Tomorrow is a fresh start, just put it all behind you and move on 😊

I will report back tomorrow with positive news!

EssexLioness · 15/08/2021 20:47

Fab, you can do it!

LlamaofDrama · 16/08/2021 09:13

Looking forward to a positive update, @ginsparkles. No pressure then Grin

Tape measure says 77 cm waist and 88 cm hips/tummy. I need to check my previous post but I think that suggests inconsistency in measuring Hmm. Scales are strongly suggesting that they'd like to drop a bit so hopefully the holiday blip will soon be behind me.

Good luck everyone! It's a shiny new week.

EssexLioness · 16/08/2021 18:41

Hi everyone, hope you’ve all had a good day. @LlamaofDrama I can relate to inconsistency in measuring. It’s tricky to be spot on but as long as the overall trend is downwards in the long term then I think it all evens itself out.
Not feeling as energetic today - it’s around the time I would normally get PMT so not sure if this is why, even though I’ve started HRT now. Of course it could just be coincidence but I have felt drained and a bit moody today with random cravings, which only usually affect me for a couple of days a month. Still managed to do my 10,000 steps and a 45 min run today though so happy with that. Resisted all cravings and food went according to plan as well. I’m going to weigh in tomorrow evening to see if I’ve lost anything after stepping up my exercise. Seeing my personal trainer again tomorrow morning too - last week was lots of assessments/ getting to know me stuff so this will be our first proper session together and I’m a bit nervous now! Hope she doesn’t work me to the point of collapse 😬

ginsparkles · 16/08/2021 19:55

Hello gang! Sooo I have been so good today! Sent boss out to buy me a salad for lunch today and he came back with a falafel and mexican bean one, such a good choice! Filling and low cal. So I'm currently sitting on 929 having had all my meals!

I might go and grab a yogurt and then I will close the kitchen. Fingers crossed another good day tomorrow will give me nice friendly scales on Wednesday morning. I'm not expecting a loss, but a maintain would be lovely!

EssexLioness · 17/08/2021 08:12

Great job @ginsparkles 😊 fingers crossed for the scales on Wednesday
Have a good day everyone!

ginsparkles · 17/08/2021 09:28

Scales this morning were kind so let's hope I can stay strong today!!

Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday Smile

EssexLioness · 17/08/2021 18:29

glad the scales were kind this morning @ginsparkles

My scales were also kind… a loss of 2lbs! Can’t even remember the last time I lost that much so I’m really pleased. Guess all the exercise is having an effect.
Enjoyed my PT session this morning. She pushed me out of my comfort zone but not impossibly so. Looking forward to next week’s now. She did make me do a lot of squats though so hoping my legs work for tomorrow’s run! 😬
Next week I am planning on staying the same weight as we have a big fancy meal out for our wedding anniversary (complete with bread basket). I will keep up with the exercise and stay on track the rest of the time to balance it out. We only really eat out on special occasions so I’m happy with that.
Having homemade lasagne and garlic bread for dinner tonight - bit more extravagant than we normally have but all accounted for

EssexLioness · 17/08/2021 18:30

Meant to say, anniversary is today hence a nicer dinner then celebrating properly on Friday with our meal out

ginsparkles · 17/08/2021 19:01

Yay!!! Congrats @EssexLioness and happy anniversary! I do love a good lasagne.

Finishing today on 1250 so I'm happy with that.

EssexLioness · 17/08/2021 20:15

Thank you @ginsparkles 😊

ginsparkles · 18/08/2021 08:50

Staggeringly it's a loss! Only a lb, but a lb all the same!!

I'm taking DD (9) away for a couple of days today for our annual girls summer hols trip. So I'm not going to counting calories but will try to be mindful and will be back at it probably come Saturday.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

EssexLioness · 18/08/2021 11:42

Well done @ginsparkles, that’s a great result! Have a lovely time away!

Thoroughly enjoyed our lasagne and garlic bread last night but was ill all last night, and feel really shaky with upset stomach today. I made a low fat cheese sauce to reduce the richness but doesn’t seem to have helped. Stupid hormones - my stomach throws random tantrums nowadays if I have anything that isn’t ‘perfect’ healthy food. But it’s so hard to work out as other times it will be fine 🤷‍♀️ It could’ve been the pasta, oil from the garlic bread or caffeine from the can of Diet Coke I had. All of which I have had fine before but something has upset it now. So annoying…. Anyway I’ve done the absolute bare minimum work wise today (work from home, own business) and am going to crawl back into bed with a hot water bottle. Weirdly I’m still hungry but my stomach just feels rough (not actually sick but churned up and really nauseous), so I’m not even thinking about eating low cal etc today. Already had some toast and am thinking this will be the plan for the rest of the day now. Will get back on it again tomorrow. Bit nervous now though as we are out for our anniversary dinner Friday night and then out for a 2 hour boat trip on Saturday! 🤢😬 If it was just down to me then I would cancel, but I feel bad for DH so will just keep my fingers crossed. I know he would happily cancel if I asked but we eat out so rarely nowadays and we were both really looking forward to this.
Hope everyone else is having a better day! Will catch up later

ginsparkles · 20/08/2021 07:38

@EssexLioness I get that after an indulgent meal too. It's really annoying! Hopefully your tummy won't be to cross with you after your meal out today. Hope you have a lovely anniversary!

Hope everyone else is well. I have one last day of not tracking. I haven't eaten well over the past few days but we have walked miles and have been for a swim each day. Back to normality tomorrow. So will do a 16 hour fast from tonight til tomorrow lunch, healthy lunch planned but chippy tea! Sunday will be the healthy day! And I'll not be upset with the scales this week. Full week at work next week so that will remove all the damage from this week, and there's only one week of school hols left to worry about!

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 20/08/2021 07:43

I've given up weighing myself, those scales never move!
So I've cut out snacks and processed food massively and keeping up with Joe Wicks abs daily . My belly has shrunk quite a bit but omg the shape of it ?! The bottom part under my belly button is tightening nicely but the top part bra to belly button is so flabby. I've never had that before , what the hell .

EssexLioness · 20/08/2021 09:16

Thanks @ginsparkles. We had to cancel our meal out as I’ve been in agony for the last two days. Stomach still bit fragile today but otherwise ok. Been surviving on yoghurt and buttered toast. Plan to eat normally today though. Missed two jogging sessions as too unwell, which I was surprisingly sad about.

@Dontforgetyourbrolly I have the flabby belly thing going on too. It’s so annoying

ginsparkles · 20/08/2021 09:20

Oh @EssexLioness poor you! Hope you feel better soon!

@Dontforgetyourbrolly I feel your pain re flabby belly! I have never been toned but it's definitely different these days!

EssexLioness · 20/08/2021 10:30

Thanks @ginsparkles

EssexLioness · 20/08/2021 21:48

Felt super snacky all day for some reason but managed to resist. Missed today’s run today just to be on the safe side as although I feel mostly back to normal I still don’t feel 100%. Will go tomorrow instead. Hope everyone’s doing ok - have a lovely weekend!

Tiggles · 21/08/2021 00:28

Please can I join you, albeit a little late.
I've been using my fitness pal to try and lose weight for the last 2 weeks - lost 2.7 kilos, so one kilo left to go to get down to the weight I was last time I started using it Blush.
I've taken up karate and also try and do skipping once ot twice a week.
We are going to be 'holidaying from home' next week, which in reality is going to mean getting takeaways in and I know that if I don't stick to the calorie counting I won't start again.

Does anyone else find they have to only eat 1000 calories max a day or they don't lose any weight?

ginsparkles · 21/08/2021 21:00

Happy Saturday day, healthy kick start back went well today.... not! Boss brought in cake, fish and chips for tea and DD has a friend over to stay and she brought sweets with her for us as a thank you! Doh!!!

Tomorrow's a new day!

Hi @Tiggles welcome on board. I'm lucky a get away with about 1300 calories a day. But I'm quite tall which I think is why I get a bit more

EssexLioness · 22/08/2021 12:43

Welcome Tiggles! 1000 cals sounds tough, I don’t calorie count but when I have added it up, I can do about 1200 and lose, but my losses are usually pretty small. I have found I have a bit of extra leeway by increasing my exercise.
Oops @ginsparkles that sounds a lovely, albeit off plan sort of day. I’m struggling to get my head back in the game after being unwell last week but managed for resist temptation again yesterday. I go away in 1 1/2 weeks so really need to focus until then. Plan on eating healthily most of the time away, but no doubt I will gain a little then, so need to get some weight off before I go. I really want to be into the 10s as I have been hovering in the early/ mid 11s for the past couple of months
