Is it me, or is there a Diet Coke shortage?

My nearest corner shop has stopped stocking it. The next nearest has just bottles (but both cans and bottles of full fat). Other shops have had noticeably fewer cans of Diet Coke on their shelves.

Loads in my asda, but no diet pepsi.

reallifegetsintheway2 · 30/07/2021 13:07

no, fat coke shortage here. Loads of diet coke and zero sugar though

hopeishere · 30/07/2021 13:08

Yes. I've noticed it too. Also hate the new skinny cans.

Interesting, I did a Tesco order yesterday and couldn’t order the normal box of cans I get.

I work in a supermarket, last week there was big gaps on the fizzy drinks isle, we completely ran out of lemonade and various colas I think it was a combination of the pingdemic, lorry driver shortage and the hot weather, it's improved this week but we are still having some delivery problems.

gildalily · 30/07/2021 13:15

From my understanding supermarkets are prioritising deliveries of necessities over things that people can cope without.

TheGriffle · 30/07/2021 13:16

Asda online hasn’t had any full fat Dr Pepper for the last 3 or 4 weeks. I normally live on the stuff so I’m not happy!

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 30/07/2021 13:17

No fizzy water either - apparently there’s a co2 shortage affecting fizzy drinks!! Not sure of the cause. Nearly bought a soda stream to make my own but I’m presuming it will affect that at some point too!

Angelofchaos · 30/07/2021 13:20

Our aldi has stacks of boxes of diet and zero. And loads of bottles as well

I feel I should go stock up! 🤔

That doesn’t explain why they aren’t prioritising Diet Coke Confused Wink

My last two deliveries were short on Coke Zero

senoritarita · 30/07/2021 15:43

Yes! Coke Zero ain't the same

Isababybel · 30/07/2021 15:46

Yes, 2 weeks on the trot now Asda have substituted diet coke for the full sugar version on my online order. I wonder why?

Evenstar · 30/07/2021 15:50

Lots of different Pepsi products out of stock for online shopping last night at Asda

NavigatingAdolescence · 30/07/2021 16:01

See it as a good thing. Fizzy drinks are one of the biggest contributors to poor health.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 30/07/2021 16:04

I despise shops that do not stock cans of pepsi. There's always the crap diet stuff, bottles of Pepsi, or whatever you want of yucky Coca-Cola Hmm

Lots of missing things in Sainsburys last night, especially the fizzy aisle.

We buy the red can zero calorie coke now, but they didn't have any.

moonbedazzled · 30/07/2021 16:10

Tons diet Coke here but no zero vanilla. 🤨

I'd choose Diet Coke over food 😂😭🤤

Vanilla zero isn't a necessity!! 😲 What world are these supermarket managers living in?! 🤷

And I must say, this comment is typical of this country and the discrimination that coke-drinkers experience on a daily basis. I'd like to see someone expect tea-drinkers to forego their hourly cuppa or the coffee-drinkers to view their lattes as a "luxury" Hmm

They substituted my order of normal Coca Cola for coke zero today. Sent that right back - yuk! I only have one left in the fridge and I’m wondering how I’m going to cope.
