“Headache virus going around”

I’ve had a headache for a week. Negative Covid test, no other symptoms. I have had quite a few friends also say they have had cluster headaches and two said “there is a headache virus going around”. I took that to mean a virus with a headache as the only symptom but not Covid. All have been tested with negative results.
Anyone else had the same thing? How can you get it to go? Pain killers not helping. It is like a dull pain, always there.

DH has this - several negative tests for covid but he’s feeling pretty rubbish.

We have Covid - positive PCR and the only symptom is headache and very mild sore throat.

I wonder if PCR are just not reliable for everyone.

ooh i have a really dull headache today, the sort that you'd get after a glass or two too many of wine but i haven't had a drink all week (maybe that's the problem!). I was putting it down to hayfever. No other symptoms other than feeling a bit tired but that's pretty normal on a Friday for me.

If it were me I think I'd go for a PCR test and not rely on the lateral flow one .

Could it be Covid but the tests not picking it up ?

Yes, likely a barometric pressure headache at this time of year. Never heard of a virus that only causes headaches Confused.

Same here, I’ve had it for about 2-3 weeks. My little boy had covid when mine started so I was sure I had it… but 2 negative PCR tests 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s weird isn’t it. Had a PCR negative test. Quite a few people have got it, and not all local to me, plus people on here.
Barometric pressure headache seems to fit.

Try Boots Decongestant (pseudoephedrine hydrochloride). Its a non drowsy decongestant. Relieves sinus pressure. Over the counter.

I have a headache, stuffy nose, slight temperature, sore throat - but headache is the main one of those. PCR negative (and I'm in a very low Covid area). I caught it off a family member with same symptoms so definitely contagious. Weird thing is I almost never get headaches but I've had this one almost 48 hrs now :(

I get sinus headaches and this works when paracetomol doesn't.

Sudafed also similar.

Yep weather head here. My mother and one of my son's suffer as well as me. Barometric pressure we can all tell when the glass is falling fast

Yes I've got this too. I've not been sleeping well recently so had 5 or 6 G&T's to help me sleep last evening and this morning I woke up with a terrible headache, feels a bit better now though

I have this too - dull headache, as if I'm hungover - but which has persisted since yesterday, despite taking Solpadeine. Also woke up this morning with a sore throat. LFT negative.

Yes I had something weird last week Monday i lost my sense of smell for one hour. I immediately got tested by pcr and lateral flow all negative. Tuesday I felt I was coming down with a heavy cold, by Sunday I thought I was dying it was awful.
My chest was burning like it was cut with glass and the cough was horrendous but the headache I had with it just wouldn't budge all week. I'm over it now thankfully.

I had Covid 2 weeks ago. Started with headache & sore throat. LFTs negative, but had been a close contact of someone who also said headache & sore throat were the first sign and so took PCR at what i thought were first sign of very slight symptoms. PCR negative. A couple of days symptoms were more pronounced so took another PCR. Positive. Fortunately didn't get too bad but headache was a dull pain for about a week and didn't respond to painkillers.

I wouldn't trust LFT if you have symptoms but not sure why first pCR was negative.

I had this about 3 weeks ago. Fatigue, headache. Lost sense of taste. 2 x lft negative
