Poor chap he's been tricked into sharing an evening of drinking & dancing with some lovely blonde 20 somethings. Followed by being tricked into going back to a hotel with them all. Poor chap doesn't have much luck does he?

@MobyDicksTinyCanoe

roses2 there are plenty of women who are known for philandering too, wouldit be ok for men to do this to them because they 'put out'?

Would it hell.

Absolutely spot on. His reputation has nothing to do with it here, their behaviour is disgusting and should be called out.

Wayne Rooney has a history of this kind of behaviour and to be honest, I think there is some truth in the rumours that he and Colleen have an 'arrangement'. But it is still irrelevant really, his behaviour doesn't excuse this kind of action.

the80sweregreat · 27/07/2021 07:38

His excuses are right up there with ' testing my eyesight out on a sixty mile car journey '
He is clearly a fan of Dominic.

MobyDicksTinyCanoe · 27/07/2021 07:43

He wasnt capable of consenting to anything when he was taken to that room. One of the girls said he woke up the next day, was angry about where he was then he left. Nothing happened.

And I think Colleen is paying the long game tbh, the longer the marraige, the bigger the settlement. And I don't blame her, but that doesn't mean what they did was ok.

MrsDThomas · 27/07/2021 07:57

His morals were lost many years ago, he’s a cunt. Time for poor Coleen to get rid.

But those semi naked girls in the room? Yeah, well, less said the better.

pippitysqueakity · 27/07/2021 07:58

I agree about the victim blaming. However, I also feel if it was a woman in his position, they wouldn’t be the ones fully dressed and comfy on a chair while his abusers were half dressed or naked?

It’s not relevant how a woman would be treated in his position.

What happened was unacceptable. Full stop.

TokyoSushi · 27/07/2021 08:12

I used to meet him a lot in a previous job, he's a nice lad (and yes you would still describe him in that way as he really never grew up) he's just very, very dim.

Rosegoldfan · 27/07/2021 08:16

What the girls did was unacceptable absolutely.

What WR did as a married man are also not acceptable. Hugging that topless woman. Going back to the hotel with the women.

Crockof · 27/07/2021 08:31

@roses2

If this was a woman, unconscious in a chair, surrounded by a man in various states of undress people would be up in arms, regardless of their reputation. It’s absolutely disgusting how these women behaved and they should be called out on it.

True but the difference is this man is well known for his philandering and hence people aren't coming to the pity party.

Previous behaviour does not mean you can victim blame.

Tbh I'm disgusted by most of the replies in this thread.

Orf1abc · 27/07/2021 08:55

What has he been a victim of? There's no suggestion he was forced back to the room, no suggestion of unwelcome physical contact. The whole thing is incredibly crass, but calling him a victim implies an offence has taken place, and I don't see one.

Whoarethewho · 27/07/2021 09:02

Look again cheap women throwing themselves at a ex premier League footballer. How about they go out and earn a living with there skills instead off Yet again trying to bag themselves a story in the sun? Shining lights of feminism theses lasses are, and yet the Mumsnet extreme feminists still blame the man every time.

mygood · 27/07/2021 09:07

Wagatha Christie would need to up her game and focus on getting rid of that cheat instead of getting all public about RV.
Bet she doesnt utter a word about this.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 27/07/2021 09:13

“Bet she doesnt utter a word about this”

Oh she will, she’ll defend him Hmm

Exactly - I agree with this. The violation of a drunk woman would have been much greater for sure.

The girls saw a drunk famous person and saw an opportunity to get their 2 seconds of fame.

I have no sympathy for him at all.

Would you see differently if it was a woman in the same postition? Or does consent only work one way?
SoupDragon · 27/07/2021 09:39

According to the mother of one of the women, they are "mortified" and "It’s upset them all. They’re in tears. She’s a good girl and comes from a decent family."

Bollocks has it. They are only panicking because they're scared he's going to sue them or something. Idiots.

SoupDragon · 27/07/2021 09:40

Would you also have no sympathy for a drunk famous woman who had had the exact same thing done to her?

ChicChaos · 27/07/2021 09:44

@MobyDicksTinyCanoe

Chic it's not illegal to get pissed in a bar.

It is however sinking to low depths to take advantage of someone in that state. Whatever the intentions are, it's just wrong.

I absolutely agree, and think anyone shouldn't take advantage of someone in that situation/state.

Rooney's issues always seem to be after a night out with someone he's met on the night rather than a long-term mistress.

For once, I'd say that not everyone is blaming the man here, and there does seem to be a bit of a backlash against the 'models' involved.

Havaword · 27/07/2021 09:45

Where can you see the photos, I’ve goggled abs nothing comes up

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 27/07/2021 09:46

@ChristmasShearwater she is a practising Catholic. She will never divorce him.
Anyone who thinks she stays with him for money is a fool. She would be wealthy for the rest of her life if she divorced him. She comes from a large Catholic family and divorce isn’t an option.

If it was clear there was a famous promiscuous woman passed out on a chair, remained clothed, it was clear there was no sexual assault, and there were men waving their bum in her face whilst passed out then yes I would feel exactly the same and have no sympathy. I would see it as a joke which I am sure was the intent of these girls since they didn't strip him naked.
AnyFucker · 27/07/2021 09:51

Yet another example of a world very far removed from my own. Thankfully.

I would prefer the lot of them were left to it and we didn’t have this crass behaviour (on all sides) on my news feed next to the actual important stuff

Samcro · 27/07/2021 09:51

@Dyrne

The victim blaming in this thread is absolutely disgusting.

Regardless of the man’s history; no one deserves to have naked body parts waved in their face while unconscious and unable to consent.

Katedanielshasakitty · 27/07/2021 09:53

He is vile. I have always thought that. Colleen stats with him for her own reasons and I am sure she doesn't expect decent behaviour out of him. And hasn't for a long time.

But it doesn't matter who he is or what he did in the past, those girls were vile as well. He was unconscious and it's really not ok.

Ronsmood · 27/07/2021 09:57

For me, the victim blaming argument doesn’t stand up in this situation. He holds 99% of the power. He is physically stronger than those women. Financially he’s untouchable. He has a position of responsibility as a world famous sportsman, father and husband. He shouldn’t behave like this.
