Percy from The Green Mile is on my list
The Captain from Pan's Labyrinth.
At least Half of the characters in Wuthering Heights.

There's a lot more but my mind has just gone blank.

Who are your nominations?

Emily from Friends
Really? Because of the go NC with Rachel? Would that not be the mn advice if your dh was fixated on an ex and said her name at rhe altar?
GordonsAlive85 · 19/07/2021 17:39

Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes

willowmelangell · 19/07/2021 17:41

Oooh I know, I know, Bill Sykes.

PetticoatSoldier · 19/07/2021 17:46

@Derbee

Emily from Friends

😂😂 Totally agree!

Bloodypunkrockers · 19/07/2021 17:51

Pat phelan from Corrie

Stopped watching and never gone back

Scoose · 19/07/2021 17:58

Ramsay Bolton I feel sick when he's on screen
Joffrey Baratheon/Lannister

(Both got which I have only just started watching)
Marlo Hampton the wire

Ultimatecougar · 19/07/2021 18:06

Humbert from Lolita

LeonardLikesThisPost · 19/07/2021 18:06

Agree with Bill Sykes (traumatised me as a child) and everyone mentioned from Game of Thrones.

Watching The Boys just now and Stormfront is pretty hideous (the name is a giveaway, to be fair). No spoilers please, not finished the series yet!

MirandaMarple · 19/07/2021 18:08

Carrie Bradshaw - Sex and the City

SionnachRua · 19/07/2021 18:10

Thomas the Tank. Entitled douchebag 24/7.

Grandpa Joe in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Lazes about in bed for fuckin' years, not helping at all...until the Golden Ticket appears and he miraculously can do a jig.

Oh and Peter Pan. Spent all his time tormenting Hook (a pretty tragic character in his own right).

Chemenger · 19/07/2021 18:12

Jane Eyre.

SionnachRua · 19/07/2021 18:14

A huge chunk of the cast of the US Office, even though I know they're meant to be that way and it's why they work so well. Jim, Dwight, Phyllis, Ryan, Darryl, Jan...

BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand · 19/07/2021 18:15

@moynomore

Angel from Tess of d'Ubervilles. I think almost more odious than Alec.
Yes! I despise Angel so much.
LeSquigh · 19/07/2021 18:17

Yes to Percy in The Green Mile.

Also Finchy in The Office U.K. and Jeff in Peep Show. Similar characters as well.

suckingonchillidogs · 19/07/2021 18:22

Cathy Ames/Trask from East of Eden. She's cruel, cold and a murderer with no redeeming features - she's ACE

Bladedancer · 19/07/2021 18:32

Emma Bovary;- entitled, narcissistic and thoroughly selfish!

LavenderAskew · 19/07/2021 18:38

Yes to a lot mention so far.

Percy in the Green Mile- awful, think we need to add Wild Bill I with him.too.

Keeping with Stephen King books Jack Torrance is totally unlikeable right from the get go, isn't he? Also Warden Norton in The Shawskank Redemption- admittedly I'm basing that on the film character, it's been so long since I read the novelle I can't recall.

Ramsey Bolton is utter horrible, there's nothing about that's good, he's not even evil in an likeable way is he? Just repulsive. Joffery is another one certainly.

I'm going to add Bob Ewell from To Kill a Mockingbird - I've had a life long loathing of him. Same with "Mister" in The Color Purple.

Sherman Thingie in Bonfire of Vanities and everyone in The Great Gatsby make me dislike the books due to their unlikeableness.

Might as well nominate Napolen from.Animal Farm. The prick.

colouringindoors · 19/07/2021 18:38

another vote for Umbridge, Bolton.

Also the baddie in Se7en.

Hannibal Lector

hiptobeasquare · 19/07/2021 18:38

Right now…

Peppa Pig.

colouringindoors · 19/07/2021 18:40

Kathy Bates in Misery!

proopher · 19/07/2021 18:42

Umbridge
Chuck Bass
Geoff from Corrie
Mr Schue from Glee

BrownEyedGirl80 · 19/07/2021 18:43

Daddy pig.
I hate the prick.

proopher · 19/07/2021 18:44

Also agree with Humbert Humbert and Carrie Bradshaw!

Gregwiggle · 19/07/2021 18:45

Call me soft but I think that Bill Sykes was the product of a very society which was very cruel to poor and orphaned children. (Not excusing him murdering Nancy!). Same for Emma Bovary, she was the product of 19th century rural womens' very limited options.

Historytoo · 19/07/2021 18:47

@KineticSand Agreed, and what makes him so terrible is that there are no doubt bankers like him in real life.
