I don’t want to cook for the next few days, what are you eating in this heat?

Me, dh and 2 x ds.

We were going to have a bbq for tea but it’s too hot for that, tea today appears to be ice cream Grin

Looking ahead I don’t really fancy cooking for the next few days!! All but me are salad refusers and dh and ds9 don’t really eat vegetables either which makes summery hot weather foods very hard!

What do you eat when it’s as hot as this?

I am planning burgers for one day this week - got some brioche rolls today and they make a burger taste amazing

Raiding the freezer for ready meals because I'm too hot and grumpy to cook.
Kids had fish pie tonight, I'll probably not have anything much, perhaps some beans on toast later.

Thankfully only myself to feed.

So far today...

Litres of water almost frozen
Pot of total Greek yogurt
Handful of peanuts

Might have some olives later if I can find an appetite.

Too hot to eat.

What we call our summer pasta. Chopped tomatoes, parmesan, olive oil, fresh basil (lots), salt and pepper, lemon juice, and hot pepper flakes. Add small shrimp. Not cooked.

Cook a pot of pasta (linguine is good), and toss it into the tomato mixture.

We also get a rotisserie chicken and eat it cold with salads.

Mind you, during the "heat dome" over Vancouver we lost our appetites and basically sat right in front of the portable air con just to eat. It was horrendous.

The shrimp is cooked when we buy it.

Cold brew coffee with squirty cream. Pretty sure its a balanced meal.
