What is everyone doing today?

We have a 4 and a 1 year old and they have been in the paddling pool this morning but the 1yr old isn't feeling it at all, she's gone inside. Maybe it's too hot for her.
MIL is coming round to play with the children and we are having pizza for tea because I can't cook in this heat.

I love threads like this, like the "what can you hear now" thread, they give me such comfort.

Sitting in the sun, Had my coffee in the garden at 8am. I'm on wash load 2 of 4 and I'm not moving all day. BBQ for dinner...bliss

Poor DH is nightshift so trying to sleep and the house is about 28degrees.

It’s warm where I am but I’m going to go for a run in the local park and keep to the shade. Then I’ll have a shower and a late brunch and then read a book on the patio whilst consuming a lot of cool drinks!

DD1 and DD2 are upstairs, no idea what they’re doing. As usual. They’re off to their Dads for a few hours later. They’re teens and don’t tend to go overnight any more —but that’s a whole other thread—

DD3 is in the armchair watching Raya and the Last Dragon on my old phone.

I’m on the sofa; I have an ear infection that hurts and is affecting my balance/making me dizzy. I’ve done 3 loads of laundry this morning and need to sit on the floor and fold it all up soon.

I’ll be mostly binge watching Schitts Creek in between doing only the most basic chores, and getting really fucking stressed about what I’m not doing.

Feeling guilty that I’m too hungover to go outside in the sun when I’m usually a massive sun worshipper. Currently lying on the sofa in a bikini

Later this afternoon I’m going to watch DP play in a tennis final and then we’re going out to a local cocktail bar for dinner.

I should probably also amend our Tesco order for next week. Now it looks like it’s going to be hot I’m not sure I fancy what I’d planned for dinners.

I've been up early. Had a lovely breakfast then my granddaughter came so we played and she's now getting ready for gymnastics and I'm sat on the couch looking like a pirate after a face painting activity. We've laughed so much- a great start to the day.
I'm going to get a shower, sit in the garden and finish my book. Salmon and pasta for tea.

We are just doing last dance lessons of the term . Then we are booked to go to the splash park this afternoon .

Had my hair done this morning and am very pleased with it. The in-laws will be here in half an hour or so, we are having hot dogs done on the BBQ for lunch. There's a beer festival at our village club today and tomorrow so we might pop along there for a drink this evening. I will mostly be sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine though!

Isolating as my class bubble popped last week (I'm a teacher). It's been a tough week teaching online and I can't go anywhere so, sitting in the sun, going in the pool (10ft framed pool, nothing huge!) and doing F all. Luckily DCs are at an age where they can potter about, play, watch TV, get their own snacks etc without too much effort from me.

A lot of running around of teenagers and the weekly shop today, trying to get everything sorted today so that we can have a relaxing day in the sun tomorrow

Its 30 degrees here. In turmoil about not wanting to sit in it but then feeling guilty to waste the nice weather anyone else get that weird sun guilt?!

I'm up since 6am.
I'm in a very bad mood today, can't quite put my finger on why. I feel overwhelmed about a lot of things.
I've had a little cry earlier & indulged in self-pity but I have to shake it off now the kids are up. I have so much to do, no more time to whinge!🤣

It's DS6's birthday tomorrow. I'm taking him shopping with me for party food & cake via picking up DS3 from friend's house.
DH & DS5 are away, DS1 & DS2 are asleep so DS4 is watching DD while I'm out.

I've already put on dishwashers, washing machine, tumble dryer, sorted bins.
Will defrost meat later for tomorrow's BBQ and need to tidy kitchen.
Then I'll sort party bags & pass the parcel.
ooh and wrap presents!
Floors will be hoovered/washed by teens when they get up.

No solid plans after that, I have a long to-do list and need to order things.

it's gonna be hot today so I'm gonna have a nap after lunch.

@Msgiggles30, I get that ! The other day I sat in it for about 4 hours and even though I go as brown as a Berry, I know when I've had enough. So I came in, showered, moisturized then spent the next 3 hours gazing wistfully outside !

I also feel like I need to do loads of washing. Anything ! I swear the dog runs away from me when he thinks I'm eyeing him up !

We’ve been up and walked the dog. DH has prepped pulled pork for dinner later (friends coming over) and is now mowing the lawn. I’ve watered the garden and am now trying to gather the energy to tidy the dining room and clean the bathroom and - horror - put the newly washed covers back on the dining room chairs. It’s too hot to wrestle with them, it’s like putting a wetsuit on a shark at the best of times.

I’ve got my friends 4year old and 1 year old today. So we’re going to go to the park and get an ice cream and let them get some exercise and some energy out. Walk the dogs when it gets cooler, and maybe a bit of lying in the sun later. I’m mostly enjoying not having to think about work!

Car buying so when DH dies I have something big enough and reliable to allow me to continue to foster babies. We are enjoying the sunshine and looking forward to meeting up with my daughter and son-in-law (they are baby sitting so we can test drive cars)

I went for a run and to walk the dog this morning before it go too hot. Just put the paddling pool up. Dds are teens, dd1 is at work, but I expect that dd2 will join me in the paddling pool later. Need to pop to town to get a few bits as going away next week, but that seems like an awful lot of effort right now.

Is it acceptable to spend the day drinking wine in the paddling pool?

The toddler and the dog hate the heat so we're inside with the curtains drawn and windows open, the fan on, watching Muppets Treasure Island. I'm knitting and toddler is pretending to with some chopsticks.
Got to take the dog out this afternoon but we'll just go to the allotment and let her sniff round a bit.

Nothing. I was sitting outside, but it's just too hot. DS (18) is in/on his bed.

Went out this morning to stock up on some food essentials (mainly stuff for bbq later!)

Now sitting in the garden wearing a weird combination of clothes that don't go (6 months pregnant and just shoved on whatever looked cool!) - with feet in a bowl of cold water, my phone and my book.

Husband is lying on the grass on a towel with his book.

We will stay like this for as long as possible - BBQ later and a movie tonight when it's cooled down.

I hate the heat so am inside with all the curtains shut, kids have made thank you cards for the teachers and we're going to a friends later for a bbq.

I'm just back from shopping (very stressful because clubcard wasn't working and credit card is in DH's car...had to get poor MIL to jump & pay for shopping) so I'm just gonna relax now.

I’m about to go stand up paddle boarding

I’m going to the float room in about 10 minutes to float in a bath of Epsom salts in the dark for an hour

I'm like a bear with a sore arse in the hot weather and the dogs really struggle with heat too so we do daft early 5am first play out, another shortly before lunch and then a third mega long walk after 9pm or so when it's cool.

Currently in nice cool house with living room ceiling fan going hell for leather whilst said dogs knock frozen blocks of melon around.
