Do you know what I’m seeing everywhere at the moment and really turns my stomach?

Those revolting ‘grazing boards’, also ‘grazing boxes’.
Now I hate different types of food touching each other at the best of times but these things really make my stomach churn!
If you don’t know what they are, I’ll see if I can find a pic to attach.
Just an ugly mishmash of food which has no place being squished against something else, with everyone digging their fingers about it all to get the bits they want, are there plates involved or do people literally stand over these eating them?
I can’t be the only person who thinks these are vile! The waste must be ridiculous too.
The boxes remind me of kids packed lunch boxes, things all smooshed together crumbing up things with no crumbs Envy
Bleurgh.
What turns your stomach? Humour me, make me feel like less of a weirdo Grin

I saw this one on my local Facebook. It all seems to be on some sort of animal bedding. Confused

Never seen these! They look totally unappetising and the type of dish my kids would put together if permitted.

Rowofducks · 16/07/2021 22:36

Also is anyone else looking at those tables and thinking of the Netflix film The Platform? Envy

What on earth is that?! Any of it?
Rowofducks · 16/07/2021 22:41

According to the description they are cakes. Why there is cardboard and flowers in them I’m not sure.

Cake, on a bed of wood shavings, with a bunch of tulips wrapped round it. No thanks 😂
TheSpottedZebra · 16/07/2021 22:49

What is that stuff bottom left please?
I need to know so that I can avoid it for eternity.

Rowofducks · 16/07/2021 22:51

Not quite a grazing box/table but this did make me smile. I wish my dad was alive so I could see his face if I gave him this.

@Rowofducks what the fucking hell is anything on that table?! It reminds me of those stress-inducing pictures where you can see everything but can’t identify any of it! Does anyone know what I’m talking about or is this another batshit crazy ramble Grin

25 quid for a can of Coke and some dubious looking ready meal thing 🙄

TheChosenTwo · 16/07/2021 22:54

And wow, that box of interesting looking items would make such a touching gift! Is that a croque monsieur jammed in at the back?

Check this out. This is a Russian office buffet to celebrate "Men's day" Grin

What's wrong with a good old buffet?

TheSpottedZebra · 16/07/2021 23:01

Znaika that is a hellscape Shock
And the awful part of me wonders what they'll make the mayo appear to be. As surely there's not enough mayonnaise there for a Russian buffet?

Dying here. Don't want to think about the mayo Blush
PolkadotZebra · 16/07/2021 23:17

Usually I'm fine with board of food but that photo is trypophobia central!!! Envy

Ozgirl75 · 17/07/2021 07:15

I agree, grazing tables look both unhygienic and messy, especially as soon as people start eating.
What’s nice on a buffet is lovely serving dishes (separate!) to make the food look appetising - different sizes, different heights etc. Not just all flung on the table together, which is how it looks 20 seconds after people start eating.

ipswichwitch · 17/07/2021 07:37

Even worse than the grazing table….. a nacho table. I love this guys outrage!

A friend was having a get together in her garden and sent me this picture to say that this is what she was thinking or doing - a grazing table. I told her not to fucking dare. 🤣

Atalune · 17/07/2021 07:57

All the food looks so sweaty shoved up next to one another.

Those Facebook graze boxes look diabetes/stroke inducing! Is that what passes as a gift for some people? Am I a snob to say they are GRIM AF.

TigersandTeddybears · 17/07/2021 08:27

The nacho one was hilarious.

FunnyWonder · 17/07/2021 08:30

Those photos, for me, are the equivalent of irresistibly peeping at a horror film with my fingers over my eyes. They make me feel queasy and uncomfortable. Sweet and savoury food nestled together waiting for dozens of germ infested fingers to scrabble through it. Noooo ... !!

Someone on our community Facebook page was doing packed lunches to help frazzled parents who were home schooling over lockdown. I thought it seemed quite enterprising until I saw the photos, which showed a bunch of food all tipped into a box with some curly shredded paper. She was charging £5 each for them. £5 for a couple of tiny crustless ham sandwiches, an apple, some raisins, Haribo and marshmallows scattered about and a carton of juice. At £25 a week for one child!! There were quite a few 'oooh that looks amazing' comments. Can't imagine there were too many takers though ...

Chicchicchicchiclana · 17/07/2021 08:56

Omg that nacho one is hilarious! The woman is obviously having a laugh, it's not serious, but the guy's reaction is just brilliant. Love it!

Uramaki · 17/07/2021 09:04

Why didn the nacho lady just use a bowl?!!
