Anyone else having a shit day?

MrsJackGrealish · 16/07/2021 14:07

I've been at work since 8 and the amount of shit I have to do before half 5 is ridiculous. I'm on my own today so it's all on me, on top of the shit I've already done.

Was waiting for 40 minutes earlier to get a query answered for someone.

I've got 20 letters to type, 12 referrals to send and loads of other little shit jobs.

I clear shit and more shit appears.

I should stop wasting time and do them but I wanna have a hormonal whinge instead.

Roll on half 5.

I’m having a bit of a shit day, but in a slightly different way. I’m just really drained today. Feeling really unproductive. It’s a “wading through treacle” kind of day for me.

MrsJackGrealish · 16/07/2021 14:53

@stealingbeauty

Welcome to the pity party

I am running out of the door at half 5. I'm so stressed out.

Joining your pity party.

I don't want to do my little tasks and I also do not want to deal with ridiculous family dynamics.

SadRainbow · 16/07/2021 15:01

Me too.

Miserable with severe depression. Trying to clean and tidy the house a bit so that I feel able to invite a mum friend and her child round this weekend so they can enjoy the paddling pool. I'm not getting much done Sad

I hope everyone else's day improves soon!

Titch1993 · 16/07/2021 15:10

Me Sad

Been up since 2.30am with nearly 6month old whos reflux has come back to the point he can't be on his back (even reclined) so resorted to sitting up binge watching netflix. 3 year old threw a tantrum when picking him up from playgroup and refused point blank to come home.
Living room completely trashed and washing I piling up and I'm tired. Still have to cook and clean but haven't got the energy.
Would it be too naughty to just grab a takeout?! I feel my healthy eating is going to go out of the window tonight.

Feels good to just have a moan there! Grin everyone is at work and I'm feeling beat!

MrsJackGrealish · 16/07/2021 15:13

@Titch1993

Go for it. I would get a takeaway tonight but I had one on tuesday.

I'm sorry everyone is have such shit days.

Thought friday was meant to be a.good day.

OP posts:
Titch1993 · 16/07/2021 15:17

@MrsJackGrealish

I'll have one for the both of us! Grin
Hope everyone's days get better!

GoBrookeYourself · 16/07/2021 15:18

Joining for a moan! Just one of those shit days, pregnant and haven’t been able to sleep and I’m sooo tired and fed up. I hope everyone’s day gets better soon.

DSGBT · 16/07/2021 15:27

I’m really run down with a cold, driven from Manchester to Liverpool twice as I forgot to take something with me the first time, missed a second call from a hospital about an appointment for my DD, and it’s too bloody hot!

Roselilly36 · 16/07/2021 15:27

Had a shit few days (7 so far). I have Multiple Sclerosis and experiencing a flare up at the moment, really had enough. Usually cope really well, but this week has been too much.

Have a takeaway tonight too OP, no law saying you can’t have two in a week, it will be our third! I hope your day improves.

At least the weather is going to be good over the weekend.

MartyHart · 16/07/2021 15:35

Can I join in?
I was putting shopping away this morning and accidentally trod on the cat's tail. I had no idea he was there. He yelped and climbed my leg like a tree and bit me twice.
The neighbours must have thought there was a murder being committed.
Poor cat, he was so scared he legged it. DH came back from a walk and I burst into tears all over him.
I've also got a cold and my period and had a Covid vaccination today. But the guilt about the cat is the worst.
And yes I have seen the doctor about the cat bites as they broke the skin. I'm not in the UK so GP did my vaccine and inspected the map of scratches and bites on my calf and shin.
The cat seems fine, I think he's forgiven me. He head bumped me a few times and let me stroke him.

SilverOtter · 16/07/2021 15:39

I've got a cold and feel really nauseous 😞

Souther · 16/07/2021 15:39

I'm actually having a good one.
Had a good night sleep- usually kids wake me up with coughing and vomiting.
Both kids well enough to go nursery and school.

My day off. Enjoying the sun.
Picked up daughter from nursery. She had a nice day- they had a picnic. Lots of end of year activities.

Picked daughter up around half 1 from school. They had a nice end of year day. Lots of remembering activities. Photos with friends.

Got the 7 year old ready quick. Shes gone to a theme park with my sister. And relaxing in the garden with the 3 year old.

newnortherner111 · 16/07/2021 15:45

I'm not, sorry to read you are OP.

Minfilia · 16/07/2021 15:48

I’ll join.

Day 3 of what I assume is a migraine with sickness, had an hours sleep hoping it would finally go but nope.

Teenagers have been a pain the arse all week. They’re currently banned from grandparents because they’re Covidiots and thought it would be a great idea to go and hug someone who currently has Covid, so can’t even get away from the fuckers for a few hours like I usually would.

They were meant to be home learning today but went into the bedroom and found they’d been on YouTube instead. Now they are barely speaking to me because I pulled them up on it. Rest of the week they’ve been at home isolating they’ve been selfish twats and I’ve spent half my time clearing up their shit.

Got a mountain of work to do now I’m feeling human enough, and on top of that loads of housework because no fucker else will think to do it. They’re all out shopping with “D”H who probably won’t think to help out when he gets back either and even if he did he somehow manages to create more work than he solves…

Having a takeaway tonight to myself and they can fucking cook for themselves!

MrsE · 16/07/2021 15:51

I did a pile of washing only to discover a dead mouse inside the washing machine which had obviously got caught in clothes. 2 washes with bleach on the machine, 2 additional washes of clothes, cleaned out and washed dirty washing bin, plus all other clothes in there.
Maggots in the food recycling as well
Call with the boss at 4 ....
Is it wine o'clock yet?!

MrsJackGrealish · 16/07/2021 15:52

I'm glad some people are having good days.

My day is getting even more irritating by the second.

Now I've gotta do the worst part of my job 10 ten times.

Except for some good news on Wednesday this has been a not very good week.

Poor you and poor cat.
Phyllis321 · 16/07/2021 16:17

Me too. Waited in all day for the second day (!) for an electrician who rang at 3:30 to say he now can’t come until Monday.
I have a headache, it’s too hot for me and I’m already in the red with 2 weeks until payday. Sad

MartyHart · 16/07/2021 16:23

@AlfonsoTheMango thank you, hope your week gets better

FluffyPJs · 16/07/2021 16:25

5 mins before opening the doors this morning a parent rang school to say her child had tested positive. So after sending all the children home to isolate for 10 days, I had to leave school and sit at home all day, back to uploading lessons online for my lovelies til the end of term instead of doing all the lovely activities we had planned for next week. My class are devastated.

MrsJackGrealish · 16/07/2021 16:34

@FluffyPJs

That is gutting.

I imagine you must be pretty gutted too.

Shortly after finding out my sons nursery bubble has burst and he has to isolate I dislocated my knee last night and spent 4 hours in A and E until it popped back in. Only got about 3 hours sleep so feeling quite sore and sorry for myself today.

badlydrawnbear · 16/07/2021 17:08

After a challenging conversation with my manager yesterday about my mental health and how I am going to cope with what is predicted to be the worst winter ever in my job (I had already worked out that I cannot cope with that), I attempted to book a GP appointment. My manager "strongly recommended" I did that, and I didn't think I would be able to. I picked up the phone and the receptionist rushed through it and I panicked. She offered me an appointment in 10 days time, and when I asked if I could check if I could make that day, she said "you can call again on Monday" and I gave up. I knew speaking to a dr would be really difficult (I don't talk about my mental health, have no idea how to explain, struggle with talking on the phone even to people I know about mundane things), but I failed at the first step and couldn't even book an appointment. Now I feel worse.
