How worried about getting Covid are you right now?

It’s very confusing, cases are rising, teenagers are ignoring pings - anecdotally - people with symptoms aren’t testing. Not sure how worried to be RN. Double jabbed but will it help?

How worried are you?

Couldn't care less

Gertie75 · 16/07/2021 22:41

Not worried at all, I'm double jabbed, in my 40's and healthy so the odds of me being seriously ill are extremely small. I don't worry about other viruses either.

Not at all because I've already got it and just coming out the other side. Wasn't pleasant but I'm double vaxxed so know I'd be OK

About a 0 on the worried scale, 10 being maximum.
We’ve made no plans for the summer that can’t be easily changed, the dc and I are off (from next week), dh is working throughout but would be fine to isolate if he needed to.
Both double jabbed, he’s overweight, neither of us are remotely concerned for ourselves or dc. Our lives are by and large back to normal (with the absence of a summer holiday this year. Decided against it to avoid the faff and last minute changes).
Moving on with our lives is how I would describe it. Lucky enough to not have lost any of our family members to it although friends have lost parents which was terribly sad.

yikesanotherbooboo · 16/07/2021 22:48

I'd rather not get it but wouldn't describe myself as worried. I really don't want to have isolate though as we are very busy at work and don't want to leave my colleagues in the lurch.

I’m not worried at all. I’ve never worried about catching any particular one illness over another.

^^ This.

I am, though, and like PPs, very worried about children's education, the economy, what the nation has become and so on. I think it's going to be a long time before that shit is sorted out.

WhiskeyNeverStartsToTasteNice · 16/07/2021 23:24

I know/know of more people who've had Covid, with varying degrees of symptoms, in the last couple of months, than at any other time in the pandemic. All have had one or two vaccines. I'm very worried for my elderly mum with various health conditions, who had second vaccine back in early Jan, and whose immunity may now have waned, with no sign of booster jabs soon. Also worried for myself as I already have ME/CFS and possibility of long covid on top of that could potentially floor me.

BoredZelda · 17/07/2021 00:02

Not worried for myself but worried I would pass it to my unvaccinated daughter.

ASpoolofBlueThread · 17/07/2021 09:23

About dying from it? Not at all.

About me and DH getting long covid? Yes a bit.

About DS or nephews and nieces getting it and then having subsequent respiratory problems? I wasn't until I had a call with a paediatrician this week (I work in the NHS).

About accidentally giving it to parents or MIL? Yes pretty worried.

About accidentally giving it to someone elderly or vulnerable in the community? Again, yes pretty worried.

I know we're all bored of restrictions, but wanting something to be over doesn't mean it is over - and therefore the attitude of the government worries me most of all.

Manzanilla55 · 17/07/2021 09:34

I don't fancy long covid not any more lockdowns. As both would affect my income being self employed.
