Has anyone else been horribly lazy about dinner today?

Ive just fed my children pesto pasta, a punnet of strawberries and three celebration chocolates each for dinner.

Feeling utterly exhausted tonight and just went for a quiet easy life. Even stirring in the pesto seemed an uphill struggle Grin

I was just going to say that I asked my husband to make the apple, leek and creme fraiche sauce to go with the pork chops I had cooked.

Which he did.

It was yummy.

@sillybut that actually sounds lush lol we had frozen pizza and wedges

Codoftherings · 13/07/2021 22:31

@ShinyGreenElephant sometimes you wonder why you bother! Sympathies x

We had hot dogs after I came back from aldi food shop. Always a hit in our house.

I wasn't. I wanted to be, and have takeaway but I didn't. I had tuna mayo salad, then some chorizo & cheese and greek yoghurt with nuts and seeds and the tiniest drizzle of honey. 😇

I've just banged my backside on the wooden bed too for extra good luck.

What does this mean ?

Snog · 13/07/2021 23:22

Lentil and bean chilli. Sounds virtuous but all I did was hear it up, open a pocket of nachos and dollop on some guacamole and sour cream.

MouseholeCat · 14/07/2021 01:57

I ordered Subway. I had 3 hours sleep last night and then worked 12 hours because we're under-resourced. And I'm just shy of my third trimester so my back and pelvis hurt like hell from sitting at a desk all day. There was not a chance in hell that I was cooking.

Rainbows89 · 14/07/2021 02:33

We had a sausage tray bake. It’s very very easy but also has veg in it so feels reasonably proper.

Yes - new flavour magnums - millionaire shortbread! Irresistible! Note to self - don't buy any more!!! Just waiting for my 16 year old DS to ask me where they've all gone!

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 14/07/2021 08:10

I swung by a friends house on my way home and she gave me some leftovers she wasn’t going to eat. All I needed to do was cook some chicken to go with it...would take no time and be super easy...

I went to 7/11 on the way home and bought ready to eat chicken nuggets that I cut up and stuck on top.

emmathedilemma · 14/07/2021 08:59

I've been doing it all week, trying to run the fridge and freezer down before going away so the most effort i've put into cooking was boiling spaghetti!

Lotty32 · 14/07/2021 09:38

Think we should give ourselves a pat on the back for our inventiveness! Family cooking is relentless and gets very dull! Most (certainly mine) children like the same things day in and day out anyway!

Summernamechange2021 · 14/07/2021 14:27

Whats for dinner today then? Smile

BlackeyedSusan · 14/07/2021 15:17

I find pasta, a stir in sauce and mixed veg from the freezer a good quick dinner.

3Britnee · 15/07/2021 08:33

Salad, coleslaw, pickled red cabbage & mackerel 'pate' or cod burgers, they are just pressed flaked cod & prawns, oven baked mushrooms and broccoli maybe.

TheGirlWhoLived · 15/07/2021 16:09

Macdonalds tonight Grin

Andithoughtiwasspecial · 15/07/2021 22:36

My son made Thai curry from a kit and the fridge. No effort

Greydove28 · 16/07/2021 00:05

Yes got a packet of prawns out and dipped them in sweet Chilli sauce
