Teen DD upset. She was home walking from work through a large park. Not remote, not miles away from kids, but a large field with bushes and trees 5 min walk from a kid's playpark in an urban area.

She noticed condoms on the ground and then realised 6 men in a bush were watching her. One bloke was on his knees on a tartan rug. She was very close to them, just wasn't paying attention or expecting to stumble into an orgy in the middle of suburbia at 4 in the afternoon.

They didn't talk to her or touch her, she's just had a fright.

She said there was some tarpaulin rigged up, looks like they have set up a little rendezvous. It definitely wasn't there a week ago because I went for a middle-aged-woman-wild-wee in that bush!

She's unharmed, she did exactly the right thing, head down, walk on, get away.

I'm furious that these men think it's ok to have a sordid afternoon party near where kids are playing! Plus, the litter, it's just gross. I wouldn't give a rats arse about their grubby fetish if they tidied up after themselves and did it far away from everyone else.

WWYD? Is this a "phone 101" situation? I'm not sure if they are committing a crime beyond littering, but I really don't want them behaving like that near the kids playing.

Bloody men. What is WRONG with them?

Yes, absolutely phone the police and report them. Disgusting perverts, carrying on like that in public.

YippeeKiYay155 · 13/07/2021 17:47

If they are committing sexual acts in a public park they are most definitely committing an offence, possibly outraging public decency. Definitely report it to the Police.

Champagneforeveryone · 13/07/2021 17:47

If it is happening now (rather than a couple of hours ago) then it would be suitable to call 999 in the situation you describe.

Otherwise 101 will take a report. Also you could post on local FB pages, if nothing else it will cause them to go elsewhere.

Pinkflipflop85 · 13/07/2021 17:48

Sounds very much like our local heathland.

They are incredibly brazen where we live.

LtDansleg · 13/07/2021 17:49

They are very much committing a crime op, to the point where this is a 999 situation, not 111

AtomHeartMotherOfGod · 13/07/2021 17:50

I'm sure they would be breaking a law somewhere - indecent exposure or endangering public health (with their littering)? I'd definitely call 101 to report.

Sorry for your DD 😔

MaggieFS · 13/07/2021 17:51

Ugh. DH and I came across men loitering behind tress walking home across a common one evening. Only later found out it's a dogging spot. It's incredibly unnerving being observed like that. Absolutely 999 if it's at the time.

Zerogravity · 13/07/2021 17:54

I'd call 999. It's a crime taking place now.

Invernessie · 13/07/2021 17:54

Oh that’s terrible! I bet my pure half she told you, these situations can be terribly uncomfortable.
Definitely report it to the police, OP.

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 13/07/2021 17:55

Ugh. Just do it at home ffs!

FeatheredHope · 13/07/2021 17:55

This isn’t a 111 job, This is a 999 job!!!!

Invernessie · 13/07/2021 17:56
  • I bet you’re glad!! No idea how that typo happened
Lampzade · 13/07/2021 17:58

Phone police . That is grim

WorraLiberty · 13/07/2021 17:59

WWYD? Is this a "phone 101" situation? I'm not sure if they are committing a crime beyond littering, but I really don't want them behaving like that near the kids playing.

Oh come on, even for AIBU that's bloody ridiculous.

You know you should have called the police 🙄

Never mind, I'm sure someone more responsible will have done it by now, without having to ask Mumsnet.

BrilliantBetty · 13/07/2021 18:01

This is unacceptable and they were probably getting off on unsuspecting people (women and teens no doubt) stumbling across them in the nude and aroused. It is absolutely a calling the police situation. There were naked men in a bush in a park.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 13/07/2021 18:06

Well, I spent half an hour managing my daughter's upset. And I was a bit upset myself.

I assume they are long gone for now but will come back, given the tarpaulin and a fair amount of litter.

Thanks all.

God why are people so utterly disgusting. Absolutely dreadful that anyone, let alone teens are subjected to this.

nancywhitehead · 13/07/2021 18:18

As others have said, obviously ring the police. Use 101 as they will be gone now but it is probably a dogging spot so needs sorting out. Not appropriate in that area.

P.S. It is not only men who do this.

Boood · 13/07/2021 18:30

I’d call the police, and then I’d get a group of angry feminists down there with cameras, whistles and a loudspeaker.

1forAll74 · 13/07/2021 18:31

There was a regular dogging site down a country lane where I lived years ago. The site was accessed by going through a gate, and down a track towards a wooded area. There was a small parking area near the lane, and cars were turning up one by one, and men and women were then walking down to the dogging site, some of the women were wearing jackets, with Basques showing underneath, and they were wearing ridiculous high heels etc, The men were quite ragged looking, and wearing trainers and jogging pants and hoodies.

I witnessed this once, as I had the misfortune to be parked up the road a bit, and realised that my car tyre had gone a bit flat, so was using a foot pump to blow up the tyre before getting home.

The people saw me, but carried on going to the dogging event, some were carrying bottles of booze, and smoking fags, and laughing and joking, It was about 10pm at the time. I had heard that this was a regular dogging place, and was there for ages, so nobody had seemed to move them on.

MotionActivatedDog · 13/07/2021 18:35

Please report this OP! I’m so sorry for your daughter. How frightening for her. 6 men!!

butterpuffed · 13/07/2021 18:47

You seem more concerned about littering Confused

Yoksha · 13/07/2021 18:49

It's not Woodbank Pk in Stockport? Angry
This happened about 5wks ago when my youngest daughter was walking her dogs. Kids playing nearby.
She told parents, and some men went and took photographs of the perps. She had to step in and stop a
lynch mob. Reported to local police, & the guys uploaded the footage to the police. Not heard anymore.

Gameofbones · 13/07/2021 18:53

Oh god the woods behind where I used to live was famous for it. There was a small clearing at the back of my house I was constantly finding condoms. Thank fuck none of the kids never pick one up.
