Which Jane Austen character did you end up with?

Borrowed the idea from another site. If you are married/in a long term relationship, who did you end up with? I am stuck with grumpy Mr. Palmer! 🤣

I was about to say Mr Bingley but without the cash, so I think DP is more of a Charles Musgrove. Lovely, very unoffensive and stuck with a nightmare drama queen of a wife 😂

Not Jane Auston but I was watching the pursuit of love last night and DH reminds me of Alfred....instead of cup rings I get told off about leaving the butter out, and he loves looking at boring transport statistics on wikipedia but at the same time he is a good listener and would definitely watch the baby if I had to go rescue a friend.

Captain Wentworth Smile

CatherineMorland · 12/07/2021 22:21

Mr Rushworth

WithLoveFromMyselfToYourself · 12/07/2021 22:37

I really can’t find a match for mine!

If I were choosing a husband from her options I’d probably have to go for Mr Darcy, not only for Pemberley Grin - he is intelligent and attracted to spirited and intelligent women.

Mr Knightly is such a prig and a groomer too, that aspect of Emma really hasn’t aged well.

Captain Wentworth is a bit rigid and stiff, Bingley is a bit simple.

Edward Bertram is dull.

Henry Tilney seems like a lovely man, he’d be in the running.

@CatherineMorland

Mr Rushworth
No! I really hope not!
Burnshersmurfs · 12/07/2021 22:41

Wickham, sadly.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 12/07/2021 22:42

Mr Robert Martin.

FernieB · 12/07/2021 22:44

I've got Mr Bennett. Luckily the estate is not entailed away from the DD (I have a Lizzie and a Jane).

Queenoftheashes · 12/07/2021 22:45

Captain Wentworth

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 12/07/2021 22:49

Henry Tilney! Clever, funny, bit acerbic but family man really. And doesn't have big ambitions or like confrontation.

PaulaPetunia · 12/07/2021 22:54

Mr Weston.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 12/07/2021 22:57

Colonel Brandon

MrsSkylerWhite · 12/07/2021 22:58

Colonel Brandon

Findingapath · 12/07/2021 23:02

Mr Darcy, appears aloof and serious to outsiders but has a heart of gold once you finally get to know him

BruceAndNosh · 12/07/2021 23:06

Lizzy Bennets nice uncle whose name I can't remember.
The one who takes her to Pemberley with her aunt

Thelazydog · 12/07/2021 23:09

@BruceAndNosh is it Mr Gardener?

FlumpyPoodle · 12/07/2021 23:12

Colonel Fitzwilliam

Charming, wealthy but not overly so, easy-going, and looks dashing in his regimentals.

katplva · 12/07/2021 23:15

I am also married a Mr Robert Martin - not flashy or socially dazzling but solid, lovely and enjoys following the latest agricultural developments Grin

KohlaParasanda · 12/07/2021 23:20

Fanny Price's brother William. Kind and reliable but penniless.

WithLoveFromMyselfToYourself · 13/07/2021 00:11

Sorry, Edmund Bertram, getting my dull Edmunds and Edwards mixed up. Edward Ferrara is also nice but a little dull.

Peppallama · 13/07/2021 06:47

Robert Martin, he's lovely and kind, a bit below my station Grin but dependable and hard working.

louisvillelou · 13/07/2021 07:41

I married a sort of Edward Ferrers/Henry Tilney/Edmund Bertram hybrid. He’s not as wet as Edward or as acerbic as Henry or as boring as Edmund, but he combines their good qualities - loyalty, wit & humour, and devotion to duty. And yes, he is a clergyman 😁

funtimefrank · 13/07/2021 08:01

Sir William Elliot (is it William? Anne's dad). A pompous up himself twat who thinks he's better than he is.

Yes, we may have had a row......

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 13/07/2021 08:07

I think I'm married to Henry Tilney too. A smart, funny family man who likes to enjoy life and was attracted to quirky, Marmitey, overly imaginitive me.
