Borrowed the idea from another site. If you are married/in a long term relationship, who did you end up with? I am stuck with grumpy Mr. Palmer! 🤣

Captain Wentworth, he’s a bit older than me and has taken me on lots of foreign postings Smile

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 13/07/2021 08:28

Is anyone married to a Tom Bertram, a sobered rake?

PaulaPetunia · 13/07/2021 09:49

Captain Wentworth doesn't approve of ladies on ships.
Maybe Admiral Croft? (Guess what I'm reading right now,😄)

PaulaPetunia · 13/07/2021 09:53

If you both like speeding about the country in a fast vehicle when on shore leave this could be a perfect fit!

Thecazelets · 13/07/2021 09:54

Mr Darcy, although alas mine came without Pemberley.

TiddyAndFletch · 13/07/2021 09:55

John Thorpe (Northanger Abbey).

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 13/07/2021 09:59

Henry Tilney. Easy going, chatty, very comfortable around people. Can find me a bit silly and annoying Grin Prioritises family.

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 13/07/2021 10:06

@TiddyAndFletch

John Thorpe (Northanger Abbey).
Ouch.
TheGirlOnTheLanding · 13/07/2021 10:11

Robert Martin. I'm no Harriet though, and the friend who matchmade for us was no Emma and immediately recognised him for the catch he is.

MartyHart · 13/07/2021 10:13

Mr Hurst

BlueCookieMonster · 13/07/2021 10:14

Henry Tilney here as well.

moonlight1705 · 13/07/2021 10:35

Mixture of Henry Tilney and Mr Gardner

Family man with decent career who loves his home but has a wicked sense of humour and witty conversation. Occasionally lapses into Mr Hurst when drunk!

Twizbe · 13/07/2021 10:39

I'd love to say Captain Wentworth (or rather the Ciaran Hinds Captain Wentworth) but I think a mix of Mr Darcy and Mr Tilney. DH is a Darcy in public but Tilney in private.

vampirethriller · 13/07/2021 11:07

Wickham, except he didn't marry me.

nicelyneurotic · 13/07/2021 11:21

Wickham, sadly.

DefinitelyOdd · 14/07/2021 12:18

When I'm in a good mood I would say Robert Martin. When I'm in a bad mood he's more like Mr Collins.....

birdling · 14/07/2021 16:23

I've got Mr Bennett.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 14/07/2021 20:34

At his best, he is Mr Bingley - sweet, good humoured but incapable of organising a piss up in a brewery. At his worst he is Mr Knightly - priggish, moralising and trying to interfere in my schemes and tell me what to do! I am never Jane though! Pretty much always Emma… 😬
