What are you doing instead of watching the football?

I thought I'd put headphones on and sew, but the noise of the machine bothers the watchers. In any case, I have to have the headphones on too loud for comfort in order to block out the noise of the football!

Half watching the footie, half Mumsnetting and brushing the dogs ears which are so matted.

I'm also (half) watching Best Marigold. Not seen it before.
Under orders from work not to watch the footie, as we win when I don't. And I'm so powerful I can have this effect, clearly.

I missed England's goal and then came downstairs with the baby. Both kids are downstairs with me now but they're only watching the back of their eyelids, bless them.

I’m soo glad my dh isn’t in to football! He’s gone for a bike ride with our 11yr old ds who is also not a footy fan. I’ve been baking with my 7yr old dd.

I'm trying to finish knitting a baby blanket started knitting when the football started. not sure I will get it finished tonight though has ds just wont settle and keeps trying to run off with the wool.

If your sewing machine is drowning out the football does it perhaps need a service?

It wasn't drowning out the footie, it was just annoying. Stop-start, faster-slower etc.

Ooh, and I watched the Pixar film 'Soul' earlier. Wonderful. Highly recommend, if any fellow football avoiders are at a loose end

Codeine has kicked in, took me a while to swallow it but it’s kicked in. I’ve got 2/3DDs in bed with me, watching Simpsons on my Mac and stroking my hair.

They are gobshites at times but they’ve been utterly lovely to me today. An endless stream of ice cubes/ice pops, tea with honey, middle DD made everyone’s food (she’s 10 and is a dab hand at reheating leftovers and she makes the best sandwiches, not that I’ve eaten today!)

My window is wide open and I’m just outside the city centre and have yet to hear any football related noise, but I don’t live near the bars, thank fuck.

Just watched a documentary on Adele.
She makes me cry and very emotional like a fucking loon, no idea why, no idea, she just does. Bloody scrumptious she is.
Would love to have her round for a brew & a biscuit, not because of her music (which obv is fabulous) but just because she seems like she is right good company.

Now it’s Handmaid tale time….. bring on the fucking trauma!

I’ve cleaned my house top to bottom! I shoved my child in bed with her tablet (yes bad mum) for tonight whilst the other half is out and I’ve cleaned everywhere! It’s fabulous! DP is working tomorrow, my DD is at nursery and it’s my day off! The house is clean, the washing is done, and I’m so excited 🤣🤣
