What are you doing instead of watching the football?

I thought I'd put headphones on and sew, but the noise of the machine bothers the watchers. In any case, I have to have the headphones on too loud for comfort in order to block out the noise of the football!

I'm preparing powerpoints for a training session I'm running on Wednesday

Cosybelles · 11/07/2021 20:27

Deep bath, Netflix on laptop, MN. Heavenly.

GetTaeFuck · 11/07/2021 20:29

@delilahbucket thanks, I now have an excuse to feed DC McDonald’s tomorrow Grin I’ve only had it once before, aged 18, many moons ago, followed by shingles.

If that happens again I’m fucked as I’m now a single parent of 3DC and cannot imagine dealing with shingles and children.

@Terhou East Mids. I’m hoping I can convince a local pharmacy to deliver it, especially as we are also isolating due to half of eldest DDs year having Covid, and awaiting results for test on middle DD. I’m hoping it’s just hayfever and a cold that’s kicking her ass. I love my children dearly but this is not a fun combination to have.

Finishing off a Star Wars film, then planning to get in the hot tub with bubbles as no-one will care about the noise!
Then, I have Deliverance to watch, or may watch Handmaid's Tale (if it's on).

APurpleSquirrel · 11/07/2021 20:30

No football in this house thankfully!

So far we've put DC to bed; had sex & now watching The Expanse on Prime & eating gooseberry & loganberry crumble we made today.

UnGoogled · 11/07/2021 20:30

@JesusInTheCabbageVan it's about a teenage girl with autism and how she's coping after her parents divorce and she has to move house. I've been working on it on and off for years, and I'm about 1/4 of the way through. Recently had a burst of creative energy so I'm making hay while the sun shines.

JuneFromBethesda · 11/07/2021 20:31

I have found my people. Evening all.

At the moment I’m just MNing to the sound of the next-door neighbours cheering the football, but I must find myself a good film to watch and drown out the noise which will inevitably increase 🙄

akissbeforebed · 11/07/2021 20:32

Counting my blessings that nobody in this house enjoys football so we're currently watching Netflix (but will know if something happens by the noise from the neighbours :) )

Theblackdogagain · 11/07/2021 20:32

@Tatum1234 loving the house watching, it's great easy watch TV.

@SheABitSpicyToday

Husband is downstairs deep cleaning the kitchen. I’m vomiting into a bowl in bed and trying to watch Bridget Jones’ baby. Watching a other pregnant woman suffer might make me feel better.
Congratulations! How far along are you? Hope it eases soon.

@Dilbertian Thankyou! I’m 22 weeks, sickness seems to be going all through the pregnancy like it did last time. November is so far away Sad

Dilbertian · 11/07/2021 20:34

I'm watching Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Missed the first 10 mins, but I read the book years ago.

Watching (and listening) to the tide coming in. For once the beach is empty, no yappy dogs or boy racers. Bliss.

StrawberrySundayz · 11/07/2021 20:35

I’m watching Disney+

SprayedWithDettol · 11/07/2021 20:35

Listening to Cabin Pressure on my headphones whilst DH watches the football.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 11/07/2021 20:35

@Dilbertian I enjoyed the book. I remember there was one wonderfully smug couple in it.

ScottishNewbie · 11/07/2021 20:36

Tinting my eyebrows, eating fudge and watching Start Up Grin

@UnGoogled sounds good! I'd buy it.

JedEye · 11/07/2021 20:37

@Soubriquet

I’m watching supernatural
Good decision! Winchesters over footy any day Grin
DaxtheDestroyer · 11/07/2021 20:38

I've been sewing a dress. Only my second so learning lots! Given up for now though, so have made popcorn for the watchers, then I'm going to run a bath and read my new book.

ineedaholidayandwine · 11/07/2021 20:38

Watching a documentary on Pompeii. So sad 😞

Thanks. Smile I'd better finish writing it, then!

Dilbertian · 11/07/2021 20:39

GetTaeFuck that sounds truly miserable. Hope you get the meds you need and it eases quickly.

Men are in other room. I'm watching The Way We Were. Never seen it before.
