Why does my period always conspire against me?

WeiryWeiry · 05/07/2021 14:40

We've planned a day out tomorrow, bought tickets, DH swapped shifts etc, all looking forward to it.

My period was due Saturday but is now clearly warming up for a grand entrance :(

I think periods are conclusive proof that Mother Nature was a man, and a total wanker.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/07/2021 14:45

Every time I go away. Someone else wants to come along. Great, having to deal with that while traveling or staying at someone else’s house or a hotel.

Newchallenge · 05/07/2021 14:45

Agreed.

Akire · 05/07/2021 14:46

Mine same every Birthday every holiday every Christmas every special occasion without fail.

WeiryWeiry · 05/07/2021 14:47

Hate when it comes on at a hotel Angry

Happens to me too. Holidays, parties etc. I track it on Clue and it definitely does it on purpose. Angry

Marmite27 · 05/07/2021 14:49

Why will it stop you having a day out? I don’t understand?

WeiryWeiry · 05/07/2021 14:50

It won't stop us, but I hate using public toilets to change and the first day is always heavy, so I'll be on edge when we're driving in case of leaks etc. Absolute nuisance.

Inexplicably, neither DD nor I are due on during our imminent holiday. I am therefore expecting the holiday to be cancelled!

SpiderinaWingMirror · 05/07/2021 14:56

Its absolutely the case.

My period makes me very ill. Vomiting, fainting, crippling stomach pain. I’m usually bedridden for at least the first day.

It’s happened before important exams. It’s really shit.

Akire · 05/07/2021 22:05

Mine makes me really Bloated so nothing fits well. I want pee every half hour. Have crippling back and possible migraine pain. Dragging weight from vulva oh and flooding and cramps. I couldn’t recommend it more. It’s sad that same women who have very easy don’t notice periods can’t possible imagine not every women breezes through the same.

mintylovely · 05/07/2021 22:10

Same, if a treat day out/weekend away/birthday is planned it will arrive in its full agonising glory.

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 05/07/2021 22:12

Uggghhh and the mood swings and anxiety that turn up the few days before the actual period.

I am easy going and relaxed usually but catch me on those day and I will be either planning to murder people or crying because there’s only salt and vinegar crisps left.

MaMelon · 05/07/2021 22:14

Same here. I don’t even have to count the days - I know for a fact that if I have a big event or something nice planned my monthly friend will make her appearance.

Timeisavirtue · 05/07/2021 22:25

The way I see it is, if I haven’t killed anyone whilst I’m on my period then I’m the winner 😂

Same here. Until ... i had my second covid jab and suddenly came on 2 bloody weeks early. That never happens!

Guess where that has knocked my next one to if i go the usual length now? Yes - the day we go on holiday Hmm

I was also on during my wedding day and the first day of my honeymoon.
Also due on during 'holiday of a lifetime'. Used Noresithserone (sp?) for that but it was horrible.

You really don't understand that some women have difficult periods or difficult first days?
Nsky · 05/07/2021 22:47

Crap, better after menopause and just a nuisance at times, accupunture can help some

PoptartPoptart · 05/07/2021 22:47

I’m a mature student. I’ve worked my ass off over the last 3 years working shifts and studying and raising my family.
My graduation is on July 23rd.
Guess when my period is due?
Yep.. July the fucking 23rd.

MidgeRidge · 05/07/2021 22:49

Ugh. Mine are the same. Wedding and honeymoon! Special occasions, holidays, planned swimming trips with the family (yes, I still go, but it’s a lot more hassle and I worry about leaking), this weekend, husband’s birthday, 8 people coming to visit, add in us four, that’s 12 people in our not huge house, and I’ll be on my heaviest day. Can’t wait!

youngestisapsycho · 05/07/2021 22:52

That’s why I stay on the pill…. Can control them better.
@Laiste did you have Pfizer? Apparently that’s is mucking up periods

MaMelon · 05/07/2021 22:53

Not everyone can take the pill.

SallySycamore · 06/07/2021 01:07

I'm lucky in that mine aren't usually too painful, but I'm always teary for a day or two before which seems to coincide with big meetings. I'm usually fairly bombproof, but on those days if I get even a tiny bit of criticism I start welling up!

It has a fantastic habit of turning up when you're out of the house all day and at the mercy of portaloos as well.

Leshan · 06/07/2021 03:19

Yeah, mine used always arrive when I really needed to not have one, holidays, weddings, exams, interviews - you name it.
I went on the pill since and I never take a break from it.
