My toddler just tried to stand..

All by himself. He is 15 months old, has low muscle tone due to a brain injury, we do daily physio and it has been slowly paying off. He has only just developed the strength to get into crawling as he couldn't push up through his arms and today he has tried to stand. He stood at 45° angle to the bookcase he was using to support him but he was straight and very proud of himself!

Wow that is wonderful! Time to toddlerproof the house, now he has got the idea he will be everywhere Grin You must be so proud of him, and well done you for putting in the hard work with the physio. I used to work with a little boy whose mum had been told that he would probably never stand , when I knew him he was zooming about on a rollator , but then amazingly progressed to walking independently, a bit wobbly, but walking.. Combination of her hard work and his determination, never underestimate it.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 04/07/2021 18:45

Yaaaay! That’s amazing! Clever boy!

minipie · 04/07/2021 18:47

Oh that’s brilliant!! Well done him.

My DD was slow at various milestones (later found out she had brain injury at birth), and we gave her a strong cardboard box mostly full of books/heavy stuff to use to practise pulling up, as it was easier for her to grab hold of the edge of a box than a sofa or other furniture. Just in case this is helpful
