My toddler just tried to stand..

All by himself. He is 15 months old, has low muscle tone due to a brain injury, we do daily physio and it has been slowly paying off. He has only just developed the strength to get into crawling as he couldn't push up through his arms and today he has tried to stand. He stood at 45° angle to the bookcase he was using to support him but he was straight and very proud of himself!

Amazing! My DD has low muscle tone due to Down Syndrome and she is 3.5 and is just getting to the stage where she is choosing to walk rather than crawl. It’s so bloody brilliant when kids hit milestones, it doesn’t matter what age they are when they do it. I know exactly the pride you must be feeling now!

IAmLiamNeeson · 04/07/2021 18:48

This is amazing OP!

PumpkinParent · 04/07/2021 18:52

Well done lad, and well done OP! It’s a special moment indeed when kids who are a little different (my boy is) have a breakthrough. Really pleased for you both.

bloodywhitecat · 04/07/2021 18:59

Thank you all.

@minipie That is a really good idea! The sofa is too high for him as he can't reach up that high so a cardboard box would be a good prop for him.

How proud you must be if your little boy! That’s amazing he has stood up. But you are amazing too, spending time and effort, doing his physio. He couldn’t of done it without you!

So lovely to read!
One of my twin grandsons ( only see them once die to lockdown and them living overseas) has just started to pull him self up to the sofa at 22 months. He has a rare genetic syndrome called Mowat wilson and is doing really well with intense physio.
