So this morning I was chatting to the Headteacher...

...got home to realise there was a giant "XL" sticker running down the front of the new t-shirt I pulled on in a rush. Marvellous.

Anyone else nailing it this morning?

Means you’re living it large and extra good at life
Straws? I’m not clutching anything

surlycurly · 01/07/2021 09:05

I did similar once. Got home and discovered i'd only put lipstick on my bottom lip. Clearly got distracted mid way through. Had talked to multiple people. How it just looked like a trend.

MutteringDarkly · 01/07/2021 09:11

I appreciate the desperate grasping @Choice4567 Grin Grin

one lip lipstick is EXCELLENT. Star to you.

Come to think of it, my MIL once wore one blue shoe and one brown shoe - same style and put them on in the dark. She styled it out for the day, as I recall.

Many years ago, I got back from a first date with my blouse on inside out. It was assumed 'something' had happened during the date. No, it really hadn't. I'd got dressed to go out in a nervous hurry so it must have been on inside out when I arrived for the date and the whole time during it. He didn't want to see me again. I had my doubts about him anyway and it was his loss - I rocked that inside out blouse.

MutteringDarkly · 01/07/2021 09:17

You were obviously too cool for him with your cutting-edge blouse styling.

DD is starting preschool in September, and she had a ten minute visit the other week to meet her teacher and get her welcome pack etc. We picked her up from nursery and brought her over.

All went well, she was very excited and then very shy, all very lovely.

As we brought her back to nursery, we noticed her shoes were on the wrong feet (shoe shop being the current game of choice).

MrsMackesy · 01/07/2021 09:36

Absolutely, OP! That blouse probably did me a huge favour. Years later I saw him in something and discovered his politics would really not have been compatible with mine and the sort of woman he wanted/had ended up with was not like me at all. I dodged a bullet there.

I'm sure your HT has seen much worse from parents than a sticker still on a t-shirt. Star

FeelinSpendy · 01/07/2021 09:37

Yep, got halfway through a day at work and realised I was wearing 2 different knee high boots. Both similar height heels but different shape and details on the boots. Had travelled on the tube and been walking around the office all day too!
A couple of weeks later, got halfway up the road and realised I had on one black and one navy shoe. Luckily I was close enough to home to be able to change them.

MsIreneWinters · 01/07/2021 09:40

Was once at a dinner party with about 10 people. Towards the end of the evening went to the bathroom and saw my eyeliner had melted in a big brown streak all down my cheek. I was so embarrassed and cross no one had told me!

singlehun · 01/07/2021 09:44

I once had a whole night out with two odd ankle boots on. Both black, but one was a wedge and one was a stiletto. How I managed that I've no idea and I didn't even notice until I got home!

Mumbletum · 01/07/2021 09:45

One morning I refused to let the head of school tailgate me in to the nursery behind the gate code because I didn't recognise her (school goes all the way to 18 and my son was only 3)

She did the 'do you know who I am?' thing then someone came along who did know her and I crawled away..

thebabessavedme · 01/07/2021 09:45

went to a posh dinner in my slippers, I had tried on several pairs of high heels trying to decide which ones to wear, chosen a pair then put my slippers back on, taxi arrived early, dh yelling at me to to hurry up, last minute baby sitter, you get the picture!, got to venue all gussied up in my lovely new dress, jewelery etc, manky old slippers that i wore out to the washing line Sad, kind of ruined to look Grin

TedGlenn · 01/07/2021 09:46

Once spent an evening in a potential suitor's room at Uni, got back to my room to see I had a huge glob of chocolate on my face.

Lottieskeeper · 01/07/2021 09:47

I met my mum for coffee in town once. When she turned up she wanted to know why I was laughing.
She had a massive '3 for 2' sticker on her t shirt. Right over her boob. Grin

MutteringDarkly · 01/07/2021 09:50

I'm feeling so much better. It's only a matter of time before I do the slippers one tbh.

Years ago when my kids were in primary, I had been having a good clearout under my bed and found a forgotten box of lush bath bombs. So i took them out and gave them a sniff (as you do 😂).

Realised the time and ran off to get the kids from school, had a quick chat with the teacher and i thought she was giving me an odd look.

It was only when a friend pulled me over and said " do you know you've got white powder on your nose?" that i realised why 😳

I dont know if they believed my "Ive been sniffing a bathbomb" explanation!

Silkiecats · 01/07/2021 09:51

I remember when my DS just started school there was a school event where you could buy cookies. I bought him one, he dropped it then threw himself on the floor and landed at the headmistress feet. That was the first time I met her Blush

I've done the one blue, one black shoe thing, both same style, didn't notice until a colleague pointed it out in front of everyone.

Thecomfortador · 01/07/2021 09:58

Thanks for cheering me up op, that gave me a laugh. I once walked 1.5 miles to town, into a busy gym and was on treadmill for a with my sweatpants on back to front. Eventually dp turned up and my error was pointed out. It still gets mentioned whenever the kids put clothes on backwards.

alloalloallo · 01/07/2021 09:59

Got to work this morning and realised I was wearing 1 red and 1 white Converse

I noticed before I went in so popped home to change one.

I had already been up to our yard to bring my horses in and give them their breakfast and been into the Co-Op for milk - I’d even changed into my yard boots and changed back into them without noticing.

I thought they felt different but was in a massive rush so didn’t think anything of it.

alloalloallo · 01/07/2021 10:01

Ive also been to work in my slippers - again, thought something felt odd but was in a rush. Didn’t notice until I went to put my safety boots on so go into the workshop later that afternoon

MissyB1 · 01/07/2021 10:04

I id the thing that you think never happens in real life. I came out of the toilets at a busy restaurant, then stood at the bar - with my dress tucked into my knickers at the back!! Some kind woman got up from her table to come and tell me. Luckily I'd had a couple of proseccos and laughed it off.

spaceghett0 · 01/07/2021 10:05

I once got home from school, took my coat of and discover it had two pegs still attached to it from the washing line. I'd taken it on and off all day!

MissMissTorrance · 01/07/2021 10:06

I went on a date wearing my new top.
The back was plain and the front was all crochet.Quite revealing but anyways I thought I looked great.
First thing my date said was " Your top is back to front".
It was.

Dd's first visit to what would be her new nursery I'd ironed her lovely new dress, put on her new shoes and left her watching Cbeebies whilst I ran upstairs to get dressed before we left for the meeting with the nursery.
I came downstairs to find her coating her hair in suncream with a jam sandwich stuck to her bottom that she'd sat on.

BarbaraofSeville · 01/07/2021 10:11

I visit clients for work and have to wear safety gear. I've lost count of the number of times that I've found myself with earplugs on a string round my neck some hours later, after I've driven home often via a McDonalds cafe lunch and possibly stopping off at the supermarket on the way home.

Snowbeau · 01/07/2021 10:15

Took the kids to their swimming lesson and was wearing a new swimming costume. In my haste of undressing and with the confusion of covid rules changing everything, I got flustered and forgot to take my top off. I realised half way through the lesson and had to put a wet top back on after the lesson 🤦‍♀️
