You know ONE Swedish couple who are staying and I know several Swedes who went home and others who are going home very soon.
Number one, Sweden is overall better governed than the UK. No one can argue this point.
So many of us just feel like we want to go back home to live in a country that’s not run in chaos. Brexit only made some of us go home faster. I just think it has highlighted some issues that maybe we didn’t think about before.
Also I don’t want to give birth here. Your maternity care here is atrocious. And that is directly caused by the government’s poor handling of healthcare here.
I don’t think all Brits are anti foreigner. But I definitely noticed that a bit more. Im just saying what’s being said bothers me and I would rather not hear this.
But ultimately it really is just a matter that your country is poorly run. Why would I stay here when I can go home to a well run nation? Also on top of it not have to worry about myself or my baby having some issues during the birth?
In Sweden I know I will have good care
And not have to worry about my child dying or myself dying in childbirth.
Again. A chaotic government who creates chaos around them. The Health services here are the responsibility of the govt and I see nothing but chaos there as well
Because the leadership is poor. And I have used private healthcare since being here and even that was not what I would get in Sweden. This is again, due to poor government management of healthcare and resource mismanagement across all levels of healthcare here. Private and NHS.
When you have chaotic leaders, then you have chaos in all aspects of society. And my perspective is that it’s a chaotic situation here. That’s my opinion and I’m not saying every Swede here is identical to me.
But certainly every Swede who has left
The UK that I know has said similar things to me about their reasons for going back to Sweden. Top reason was this country is poorly managed.
I’m happy your friends love it here. My husband and I are happy to go home. Everyone is different. It’s been interesting living here, but I definitely appreciate Sweden more after being here. To put it frankly.
