NHS? Went to a place in SW London at 3pm on a Sunday - got result by 10.30am on Monday (thankfully negative)

OhToBeASeahorse · 25/06/2021 13:23

beenrumbled · 25/06/2021 13:26

DS1 and DD had a test 11am Tuesday morning at a test centre, results 8am Wednesday morning.

fastandthecurious · 25/06/2021 13:33

Whatevernext33 · 25/06/2021 13:43

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 25/06/2021 13:45

Had a test at 10:30am, result back by 23:30 the same day.

Emelene · 25/06/2021 13:46

This gives me hope! We had a test at 8am this morning for my feverish baby. We are meant to have multiple house viewings on our house tomorrow so really need the results back by 9am or all our hard work will be cancelled…. Confused Last time for us was 15 hours but that was about 4 weeks ago.

Frandad · 25/06/2021 15:20

Thanks everyone, hope this one will be as quick as some of yours!

20 hrs for us.

Camomila · 25/06/2021 17:17

36h here, test at 9am Thursday and negative results at 2pm Friday. We usually get them back early the next morning.

Emelene · 26/06/2021 06:52

Just to report back - 22 hours! Negative test result. We are in the South West.

I’m very relieved as it means we are no longer self isolating and our house viewings can go ahead! Grin

TentTalk · 26/06/2021 08:25

17hours for DC, 20 for me.

Bucklestimeshare · 26/06/2021 13:51

Yesterday’s results have just come in, 27hours.

TheChosenTwo · 26/06/2021 13:59

Someone I know yesterday, less than 10 hours turnaround time. I think it was around 8 hours.
Fingers crossed OP.

TheChosenTwo · 26/06/2021 14:00

Sadly the test result from yesterday (someone I know, not me!) was positive.

Hels20 · 26/06/2021 14:11

@TheChosenTwo - where in the country was test taken? Not sure I have heard anyone have a result that quick!!

TheChosenTwo · 26/06/2021 15:11

Guildford! It was phenomenally fast.

Frandad · 26/06/2021 17:17

25 hours here, sadly a positive result. It was a boy who sat next to ds in a lesson (he's symptom free thank goodness) so now we've taken ds to have one too and are back at the beginning of the wait again. We've had to postpone our holiday, we're missing our niece's birthday, I'm absolutely gutted. We're in the South East.

Crunchymum · 26/06/2021 17:19

Sorry to hear that it was positive @Frandad

We had a test back in 8 hours last weekend. Test at 11am and result at 6.45pm (negative thankfully)

CityCommuter · 26/06/2021 17:42

Are the NHS 24 PCR tests with results within 24 hours free? My DH paid £99 pounds for a private one and had to wait 2 days for results... it's a complete money making racket!

TheChosenTwo · 26/06/2021 17:57

Just being nosey here @CityCommuter but why did he have to pay for one?
But yes, the positive PCR test that came back in 8 hours was definitely a free one!

Crunchymum · 26/06/2021 18:00

@CityCommuter

Our 8 hour test was an NHS one too. Walk-in (we've used them before and it's been 20h for one test, 27h for another but this one was ludicrously fast!)
