Fresh pasta left out of fridge overnight - eat or bin?

superoz · 24/06/2021 18:56

I had a grocery shop delivered yesterday. Dd put all the food away as I was working and today found the fresh pasta (just plain fusilli) in the cupboard instead of the fridge.

It looks ok....do I eat it or will I regret it?

Eat it.

Librariesmakeshhhhappen · 24/06/2021 19:04

I wouldn't.

minipie · 24/06/2021 19:05

It’s going to be boiled right? I’d eat it.

Absolutely

DramaAlpaca · 24/06/2021 19:07

It was sealed in its plastic packet? It'll be fine. I'd eat that without a second thought.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 24/06/2021 19:08

Eat

insancerre · 24/06/2021 19:09

I found my yougurts in the cupboard after dh put the shopping away the day before
I’ve eaten two now and I’m still alive

CartTriesToDriveTheHorse · 24/06/2021 19:10

If it was left out of its packet you would have dried pasta, I don't see what the issue is!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/06/2021 19:12

Unless it's filled pasta, I would 100% cook and eat it. If it IS a filled pasta, I would cut one in half and give it a sniff to check it before deciding.

Librariesmakeshhhhappen · 24/06/2021 19:13

@CartTriesToDriveTheHorse

Nope. Fresh pasta is made from egg and flour. Dried pasta is made from semolina flour and water. No egg in dried pasta.

I just dont like the idea of eating raw egg which has been cracked out of is shell after it's been sitting out for a night and half a day.

nimbuscloud · 24/06/2021 19:16

This morning I scraped mould off a yoghurt that was opened 10 days ago. Ate the yoghurt.
Hate food waste.

That is patently untrue. I have dried pasta made with eggs in my cupboard (from M&S).

I would eat it.

Mrscutesmummy · 24/06/2021 19:36

Definitely eat it

Sadsiblingatsea · 24/06/2021 19:39

Eat it.

Badfootkk · 24/06/2021 19:42

No.spores .Bad very bad. Pasta and rice are very seriously bad for this. Basically a shield forms round them that Doesn't kill bad stuff when heated.

drumandthebass · 24/06/2021 19:42

eat it. Its going to be cooked anyway. What harm could it do.

Badfootkk · 24/06/2021 19:42

Sorry , did you get from my post... Bad 😊

This is cobblers. Have you never eaten egg fried rice.

Plus the issues with rice are specific to rice not pasta

Just cook it OP
