HSBC. The nearest branch is now 15 miles away.

whoknew23 · 24/06/2021 01:23

A Halfords.

SpringLoadedJizz · 24/06/2021 01:26

A cake & sweet shop. I hadn't even had the chance to go in yet. :(

TotorosCatBus · 24/06/2021 01:34

A Poundstretcher

It was next door to B&M and Aldi so a tough location.

mobear · 24/06/2021 02:02

That I noticed, Argos.

Lizzie523 · 24/06/2021 02:09

A library

Dryadia · 24/06/2021 04:15

Our local chippy & Chinese, after over 25 years with the same family.

They did close just before covid though. Never introduced deliveries or joined the likes of Just Eat, which I think against the competition around here, was the final straw.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/06/2021 05:15

A toddler and baby friendly café that had a soft play and ran toddler groups. Didn't survive the pandemic, I don't have toddlers so I never went in but it's quite sad as it was the only one of its kind in town.

Gingerkittykat · 24/06/2021 05:45

Debenhams.

BirdyBee · 24/06/2021 06:23

Pizza hut

WTFisNext · 24/06/2021 06:25

Vegan cafe

SpaceRaiders · 24/06/2021 06:32

Too many to mention. Our high street looks like a ghost town thanks to a proposed multimillion pound redevelopment and now covid.

megletthesecond · 24/06/2021 06:38

A Toni & Guy hairdressers. It surprised me a bit as it always looked busy when I walked past.

ChocOrange1 · 24/06/2021 06:41

A toddler play Cafe. It was a nice place where kids could play and parents could sit and have a coffee, but it was very small and fairly expensive and the few times I went, not particularly busy. So I'm not sure how much longer it would have stayed open anyway, and it closed permanently during the first lockdown

Also on the high street, Clarks and Santander.

CliftonGreenYork · 24/06/2021 06:44

John Lewis

OldTinHat · 24/06/2021 06:59

The CoOp with a post office in it. In the biggest town in the county.

devildeepbluesea · 24/06/2021 07:02

I think it was a little coffee shop. It was much loved in the village, but I only had one coffee there and it was disgusting so never went back.

I think the leaseholder is going to reopen. Hopefully with better coffee.

newnortherner111 · 24/06/2021 07:10

I think it was a bank two months ago, fortunately not mine.

Lovelydovey · 24/06/2021 07:11

A beauty salon.
