Here it is, the shiny after party thread carried on from Salsa's epic thread here:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4272664-To-see-how-quickly-we-can-fill-up-this-thread

All welcome - you can post more than once, just don't double post or no trophy for you!

Party on dudes, and be excellent to each other 🎉

Oh no BakeOff that's so naff. Not surprised you're feeling jumpy though after all that! I hope you do manage to get out to meet at the museum though.

Yep he's staying put. DD is knackered and migrainey but 2 weeks overdue so he really does need to get a wriggle on now. Typical boy, I was in painful but non-progressive labour for 4 days with DS before they whipped him out in an emergency c-section. Hopefully little man wilde will get his butt in gear soon.

Did anyone else go overdue? Have a c-section?

@BakeOffRewatch

hiding Jimmy Hoffa & Shergar, are we?
🤣

seriously though, poor you, how weird and scary for you!

KurtWilde · 20/06/2021 12:07

I'm off to get a large coffee somewhere in town. I need a leg stretch and it's not raining yet so..,

PurpleyBlue · 20/06/2021 12:12

I am about to give in and have another coffee. LO has given dad his father's day card and I've managed to get him (OH) out of bed. He was milking the whole lie in thing a bit.

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 20/06/2021 12:26

BakeOff That is so strange! FlowerPower "Whaaat" was my reaction as well. I wish they were required to come back and explain how things turned out (not the best use of police resources, I understand).

Kurt You must be constantly checking your phone for baby news. Does DD live close?

KurtWilde · 20/06/2021 12:33

Salsa she's quite local yes, about 10 minutes drive away. I'm actually glued to my phone. She's texting me updates (she's progressed slightly!!) and I'm sending her daft pictures and stuff to act as a distraction - or an annoyance Grin

Oh congratulations to your family, @KurtWilde! Especially to your DDaughter. I hope she is safe and well, giving birth. Thinking of her.

BakeOffRewatch · 20/06/2021 13:39

Yes I was 2 weeks ago overdue and induced.

Just woke up (only cos baby woke first) and text from DP “I’m here”. Lol upside down day!

I do feel bad cos he’s working 6 days a week whilst I’m on leave.

KurtWilde · 20/06/2021 13:39

Thanks @AutistGoth Smile

I'll bet your younger DD is over the moon. First a flower girl at the handfasting and now she's an auntie all over again! Smile

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/06/2021 14:02

@KurtWilde

I was 40w + various extra days with 6 of them (14 days overdue the most).
DS4 was 5 days early with ELSC (he was footling breech)

PurpleyBlue · 20/06/2021 14:09

I had a C-Section. I wish someone had told me to put everything I needed above waist height!

KurtWilde · 20/06/2021 14:56

My younger DD is ecstatic! I took DC plus a couple of their pals into town for a wander. Still no news though!!

Mine were all c-section either elective for breech or emergency after failed induction.

Her OH is hoping little one will join us before midnight so he can say he became a father on Father's Day Grin

UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa · 20/06/2021 15:31

Kurt Yes, I was going to say it would be sweet if DD's OH became a father on father's day!

KurtWilde · 20/06/2021 15:45

The ultimate Father's Day pressie haha

What's everyone up to this afternoon?

OP posts:
ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/06/2021 16:09

Not much.
tried to sleep but can't.
I think the jab on Friday is affecting me a little bit, I feel a bit light-headed (even after lunch) and quite sleepy.

Italy v Wales at 5pm (also Turkey v Switzerland), rooting for Wales.

hoping for quick and safe delivery of grandbaby #2 @KurtWilde.

AutistGoth · 20/06/2021 16:10

I made chocolate buns for the gathering. They're just cooling now.

FlowerPower3110 · 20/06/2021 17:06

I'm making dinner, we're having quiche Smile

KurtWilde · 20/06/2021 17:12

Ooh lovely @AutistGoth I could go a chocolate bun!

@FlowerPower3110 not had quiche in ages. Must remember to make that again soon.

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba Oof maybe you're right about the jab, the main thing after it seems to be fatigue. Hope you feel better soon!

NigellaSeed · 20/06/2021 18:01

I came on to check for baby news. He's fashionably late

PurpleyBlue · 20/06/2021 18:05

Went to Aldi, first time shopping in a supermarket since just before 2nd lockdown. Bit weird.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/06/2021 18:36

not whinging but my legs feel a bit achy. it's low level discomfort like you'd have after a bad cramp in your calves.
urgh.

lovely DH made me a cuppa and it wasn't even burning hot like usual🤣
I had 2 choc chips biscuits with it, very comforting

KurtWilde · 20/06/2021 18:41

Ooh zing I still get that achy calf thing after having covid in January. Definitely sounds like the jab giving you a bit of grief.

We had burgers for dinner. Very nice too. I've sent DCs friends home and tasked mine with a tidy up before we stick a film on.

OP posts:
ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/06/2021 18:45

what are you watching?
I saw Kingsman: Secret Service the other night and loved it.

(achiness is in thighs, really more a discomfort than anything. still I'm wriggling out of school runs tomorrow)

2018SoFarSoGreat · 20/06/2021 18:52

I had horrid sore and heavy legs after both shots. Felt as if my lower body weighed tons. hope it passes soon!
