Nigella, what an exciting time for your LO! DD was stuck on la-la-la for ages then ba-ba-ba (then finally moved on to a few recognisable words).

I have read all the messages on here and have been lurking elsewhere too, such as the football threads and think I saw Nigella on a nursery thread. Just bumped into Zing on a thread I made, thought I’d come back here with my Q - what’s a baby recipe book you actually use a lot and return to?

Evening @BakeOffRewatch l'm melting in this heatwave, as a northerner I definitely wasn't built for these temperatures! How are you and the bakeoff family doing?

DD has taken to motherhood like a duck to water, and little master wilde is a joy! Feeds well, sleeps well, isn't enjoying the heat but rarely complains much. He's the image of my DD 🥰

That’s such a lovely thing to hear @KurtWilde, your daughter must love hearing that from her mum. We’re good, can’t believe my baby is 9 months now, I see the squidgy newborns around and think oh it really wasn’t that long ago!

I hope everyone is getting a break in the heat.

@BakeOffRewatch The time really flies, doesn't it? I don't have any recipe ideas, as we either did whole foods or pouches when necessary. I hope you find something useful.

@UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa yeah I can’t believe the squidgy newborns will be the same school year! It’s got a lot cooler in London this evening. Typical. The rainy weeks set in just as the schools shut, hope it hasn’t ruined anyone’s plans.

I’ve been making my way through tv series, did Fleabag, Killing Eve, just started BBC3’s Starstruck.

@BakeOffRewatch I think you're right that the thread whose purposes was to fill up was pretty slow. BUT that was the only one I started that made it to 1000 (and we worked hard for that!). Sorry, but I couldn't reply on the other thread and step out of character .

I love how seriously you take it @UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa. Yeah I guess these clickbait threads get the numbers in short term, but might not have the fuel for 1000. We’re nearly half way on this 6 week old thread!

Did your know the answer to everything thread not make it to 1000? That was a classic right?

@BakeOffRewatch The answer to everything one went pretty quiet after it got moved to classics (maybe it doesn't show as "active" anymore?). But there is the occasional question on there that I answer.

Basically, I cosleep with DD, and while I'm still up I can pretty much only read my kindle or be on my phone. So, if there isn't anything good on MN, sometimes I try to take matters into my own hands.

@BakeOffRewatch It's working well for us, but I'm not quite sure how we'll eventually get out of it. That's future salsa's problem.

@UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa we found leaving on bed until baby is deep asleep and then transferring to cot before we go to bed works. Actually was in cot for naps and nighttime for a good few weeks then heatwave hit and the baby room is south facing and horribly hot.

Oh that’s lovely @featherbird, enjoy this sweet first romance period! I’m rewatching a romcom series at the moment, and thinking wow that all consuming elevated feeling of wow I really like this person and they really like me won’t happen again. Though having a newborn gave that same rush for me, I was telling my friends it was like the most intense falling in love feeling. So happy to hear Mr Tinder is decent as well as gorgeous!

I’ve forgotten how old your baby is, I think olde than mine (9 months)? @UnlimitedChipsAndSalsa Sorry if you’ve tried this already, we watched her while she was sleeping and we realised she wakes when on her back (probably digestive related, other symptoms have put her on pathway for that), we put the BBHugMe nursing pillow to one side and put her on side up against that at night time. She was waking very frequently prior to that which was sending us crazy,

@BakeOffRewatch, she's around 17 months but has always been a bad sleeper. I remember in the (tough) early days that I kept telling myself, "I just need to make it to four months, when babies start sleeping through the night". HA!
